Color markings on a Tiger I and Tiger II?

Has anyone ever dress out the Tiger I or King Tiger that Kurt Knispel tanks were? Just curious.

You've touched on a subject with hardly any right answers. Museums often paint their tanks incorrectly, modelers then pattern their colors from them and somehow they get accepted. Also, most photos from that era were b&w, and someone ends up colorizing them without any researching. I've seen the "octopus" scheme presented in many different shades, most or all taken from a photo of a destroyed and burned out hulk. And of course, the paints from that period were pretty random.

I just sort of go for the "inspired by" standard! If you get no satisfactory answers here, the UK Tank Warfare forum focuses a lot on pursuing accuracy.

Of course, you could do what I've done; leave the tank unpainted! This is my one display tank to show an all metal model.

Thanks Bob, I try to be as authentic in everything I do when it's military History. Those decals above you posted I have ordered. Peddinghaus are good markings. I'm going to pass on adding zimmerit, to expensive of an addition for Knispels King Tiger. BTW, I like your background you add in all your photos. Great presentation.
