The ROC Hobby Kubelwagen 1/12 Scale 4WD Military Truck RTR from Motion RC is the perfect addition to any military scale RC collection. Known as the “bucket” or “tub” car, the Kübelwagen Type 82 was a light military vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porsche and built by Volkswagen during WWII for military use. It was the axis equivalent of the “Jeep” although the production quantity of approximately 50,000 was far less than the 650,000 of its famous US counterpart.
The model features a strong load-bearing chassis with stamped central spine that protects and covers the center drive shaft and electrical wiring. This molded unibody features the texture of the original full-size metal stamping with plastic reinforcement areas to accurately reproduce features of the actual car. The front and rear wheels adopt a torsion spring independent suspension, allowing a surprising amount of suspension travel while maintaining a compact size. The highly detailed injection-molded plastic body and realistic interior combine to create a model you’ll be proud to own and operate. Additional unique details can be found in the engine bay, where a magnificent scale engine hides a small electric motor that realistically turns the belts and pulleys to power the cooling fan when the vehicle is running!
The 4 channel pistol-grip transmitter features capabilities to shift between low and high speed operation as well as selecting RWD or 4WD driving modes, making this vehicle capable of tackling most any terrain. There is also an automatic integrated lighting control system, which allows you to turn on the headlights during normal night driving, with linked turn signals and brake lights are at the rear of the car. As with other scale military models from FMS/ROC Hobby, the steering wheel and axle are linked. When you turn the wheel on the transmitter, the steering wheel does the same. A 2-in-1 receiver/ESC unit offers precise and reliable control, while the 1/12 scale size is ideal for use with various military doll figures (not included).
