  • EDF Jet Jam 2016

The dates of 2016 EDF Jet Jam are June 16-19. This the fourth year for the event which is dedicated to the promotion and growth of electric ducted fan powered aircraft.

The event is held at the purpose built jet field.

The paved runway is 800' x 50' with generous smooth grass run offs. There is also a 1000' x 110' parallel grass runway that is beautifully manicured. There are no obstructions to flight operation. The four shelters have 110 volt outlets for charging. The parking area is paved as is the driveway to the field. Onsite camping is permitted.

    The online registration site is:

Last year we saw huge growth in the EDF segment with the explosion of ARF foam jets. This year we'll see continued growth through the recent releases of the t-45, F-15, and F-14 to name just a few, I hope you'll join us to make the 2016 Jet Jam another banner year!

Please mark your calendar and make plans to attend.
    Thanks,
    Bob

I don't know, Robert, we're looking into that. At what resolution are your original photos? We'll look into it for you.

The old forum had a max size of 1Mb, but this new forum can accommodate 10Mb photos and resize them.

By the way, the EDF Jet Jam is highly recommended for anyone in the area to attend! Certainly worth the trip and Robert and his team put on an excellent event in every regard.

I've increased the default photo sizes so as long as the photos that are being uploaded aren't thumbnail size, they should show normal size in the photo gallery.

I'm going to try and get at least one of our guys or partners to attend this year, Robert. Beautiful facilities and a well run event!

EDF Jet Jam is definitely on my bucket list. My hope is to bring the EB-66C, Acesimmer's A-6, and hopefully a few other new goodies out there for 2017. I'll be attending SMALL 2016 first week of June but not likely to make the Jam two weeks later. The logistics of getting jets shipped and the cost of air fare, rental car and hotel would be too difficult to pull off at this point. Fingers crossed for 2017. :)

That would be great Alpha! Tony the event will be the same weekend in 2107 so you can start making plans now! :) Louisville (SDF) airport is about a 30 minute drive from the field. I figure by next year you'll have the EB-66 fully sorted out.

Gorgeous, I saw this big bird fly in Kentucky about five years or so ago, if memory serves. Quite amazing to see a model that size fly with such authority on electric. Pure Grace in the sky!

Robert do you know if Bob has since repowered his DC-10? Not that it needed it, but with the proliferation of 9+ blade fans, I wonder if he ever got an itch to try something new.

Pre-Registration for the event is now 25 pilots. We have pilots traveling from Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Indiana. Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia and 2 from Germany. I am expecting so large EDF's at the event one possible model is a TWIN DS-94 HST powered Rafale from the large Aviation Design kit. There will be plenty of and space for everyone to fly as much as they care too.
