  • Motion RC Staff - Who We Are

The purpose of this thread is to offer our customers an even closer look at the people that make up Motion RC. Trust is of immeasurable importance to us and we think the more you get to know us as people, the more you can trust who we are as individuals and in turn, the company as a whole. The simple fact is, we all have a passion for the RC aircraft hobby and are likely as active and immersed as you all are. We've experienced the highs and lows as the advancements in RC electric flight has evolved tremendously over the past several years. We don't simply push product we don't stand behind. Rest assured if the majority of RC pilots feel strongly about an issue, whether it's something as important as quality control down to desired scale details, we're right with you.

Our staff have been given a series of questions to answer. I will start the thread off with various staff members adding their responses in the coming days/weeks...Feel free to answer these questions and add to the thread as well!

Here's a bit about me. My name is Todd Bréda (the fancy hyphen over the "e" is to help people pronounce my last name correctly which is "Bray-duh") and most know me online as "Aros". I started out in the hobby back in the late 1990's. My passion for aviation has always been with me since I was a little boy. Like many boys my age, I had several WWII warbird models hanging from the ceiling in my room. Even that young I thought there was little else in this world quite as cool as a WWII warbird.

These days I find myself working for a company that shares the same passion I do for RC electric flight. I get to do things I really enjoy such as manage our website content, publishing all of our product as well as design our print and web advertising. Or as Wayne, my co-worker and excellent customer support team member calls me, "Pixel Pusher". Hey that works! Speaking of working, I work remotely from Maple Valley, Washington. Home of the beautiful Pacific Northwest surrounded by mountains, ocean, evergreen trees and with all of its challenges such as finding large, flat, unobstructed places to fly. Well we can't have it all. Now on to the questions...

How long have you been flying RC?

I've been flying since the late 1990's.

What type of aircraft have you flown?

I have flown sailplanes, warbirds, EDF jets, biplanes, civil, micros, 3D...Pretty much anything fixed wing. The only thing I have yet to fly are turbines. Hopefully someday.

What is currently in your hangar?

FMS 1500mm P-47D Razorback, LX 64mm SR-71 Blackbird, E-flite Timber BNF, RocHobby NXT Nemesis, HSD 105mm F-16 Falcon, Phoenix F4U Corsair, FlightLineRC P-38L Lightning, FMS 1400mm Stuka, Fly Fly ASW 28, Volantex ASW 28, E-flite UMX A-10, E-flite UMX Cessna Skylane.

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?

Man that's tough as I've had a lot of favorites through the years but for the crowd pleasing wow factor and sheer enjoyment I have to go with the Freewing 90mm F/A-18 Hornet painted in the Blue Angel scheme. Notable mentions the FMS 1400mm Pitts painted in the red Oracle scheme. What a blast that bird is and the SR-71 Blackbird for the pucker factor alone. The Top Flite Gold Edition Cessna 182 was a beautiful scale flyer. The Legend Models P-38 was a rock-solid performer as well.

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?

A Hangar 9 1:4 scale Piper Cub with a 108" wing. My other large models have been the Top Flite Gold Edition Cessna 182 Skylane, Legend Models P-38 Lightning and RC Aerodyne Baron G58. All wingspans in the 80+" range.

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?

Any of the E-flite UMX offerings.

Ever flown a full scale airplane?

Yes. Cessna 172, 8 hours logged VFR as a student pilot. Life got in the way so I had to take a leave of absence. Now my RC airplane hobby is sucking all of my disposable income.

Where's your favorite place to fly?

There's a Junior High School where I fly at primarily because it is not far from my house plus it allows me the ability to fly the medium to large sized EDF jets and warbirds. My club field has nice views but unfortunately not a large and smooth enough runway for my jets and large scale aircraft. My newest favorite place to fly I recently discovered...An 1,800 square foot unobstructed smooth parking lot at a concert venue just 12 miles from my house! Large enough to fly any giant scale stuff and my new HSD 105mm F-16!

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?

CARF Folding Wing F4U Corsair with Moki Radial! After that it would have to be a Ziroli or Yellow Aircraft P-38 Lightning...And a super scale Concorde, B1 and SR-71 EDF!!

What's the worst crash you ever had?

Geez that's a long list. Probably when I hit a chain link fence with my SR-71 Blackbird at full power. The sound and carnage was pretty damn spectacular.

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?

The Rolling Harrier! I just can't get it no matter how many hours of practicing I put in. Drives me crazy! Such a cool-looking maneuver...Just can't seem to get the muscle memory down.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?

Invest in a good RC simulator and spend hours and hours learning how to successfully takeoff, fly and land various aircraft. It pays off and will translate to the real thing. Find and join a local AMA club and absorb as much knowledge you can from experienced pilots. Having an experienced pilot Buddy Box with you is a terrific way to learn as well. Hi Guys, Michael here, Customer service technician.

Here is a little insight into my RC career!!

My father was Air Force, and after globe trotting for awhile, we wound up in Myrtle Beach SC in 1977, and I grew up on MBAFB. My father had been building and flying RC planes before I was born, so I was born into, and grew up with the hobby, as well as watching full scale jets all day. I am an avid builder, scratch builder, flyer, and of course, destroyer of model planes. Coming on board with Motion is a dream come true for a guy who loves this hobby, and wants to help people to enjoy it, and to promote it wherever and whenever possible. You can find me at the field most every weekend with an assortment of 4-10 planes at my disposal. Variety is the spice of life, and this is especially true for model planes!!

How long have you been flying RC?
I soloed in 1983 on a Midwest Sweet Stick

What type of aircraft have you flown?
I fly mostly sport planes, warbirds, and EDF jets.

What is currently in your hangar?
    RTF right now I have a Sig Kobra, FlightLine P-38, F8F, and Ta-152; Freewing T-45 90mm, F-15 90mm, F-14 twin 80mm A-10 twin 64mm, F-5 80mm, Mosquito, and Moray;
FMS P-51 1450mm, Yak-54, and F-15 64mm; E flite NightVisionAire , Flyzone L-39 55mm, TechOne SU-29. There are plenty of others, in various states of broken-ness or being built, up in the attic!!

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?
Of my current fleet, the FlightLine P-38L, but of all time has to be the Midwest Sweet Stick

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?
I had scratch built a 110" wingspan OV-10 Bronco that flew on two .61 nitro motors.

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?
That would be either the UMX F4U or T-28...whichever wins the smaller competition!!

Ever flown a full scale airplane?
I have had my hands on the yoke of a Cessna 182, but as far actually flying it, no. I did a few minor turns, but that is all.

Where's your favorite place to fly?
There is what used to be four soccer fields right across the street from house. Enough room to accommodate just about anything you could care to put in the air.

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
A turbine or electric B-1B Lancer

What's the worst crash you ever had?
In 34 years of flying? There have been some spectacular ones for sure, I do not know which could claim the title of best though!!

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
With most 3D planes, I am still trying to get the hover down, but I can do it with my TechOne SU-29 all day

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
Seek out a club and let them help you. Keep an open mind, and listen to the things you are told. Purchase a plane suitable for learning on, and get as much simulator time in as possible.

I have had a passion for aircraft and flight since I was three years old and it has lasted a lifetime. Before flying R/C models I flew control line, free flight and small elastic powered models.

Before emigrating to the United States from England in December 2012, I was a member of the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) for 35 years. I served on the BMFA Council for six years, as the South West area delegate working on improvements and safety issues for the good of aeromodelling in general. I was instrumental in negotiating and establishing the I.M.A.C (International Miniature Aerobatic Club) competitions – establishing a new event for the BMFA National Championships. For those seeking to take their skills as an R/C pilot to a different level, the establishment of I.M.A.C in the UK represented a major step forward. IMAC is now a recognized specialist body by the BMFA. I have served as Contest Director, Chairman, and Judge for I.M.A.C at the British Nationals for seven years, and also the Chief Judge for two years. I competed regularly in I.M.A.C competitions.

In England, I owned Aviation Technics for 16 years, followed by XEL Model Flying Services for four years. I designed and produced composite scale aerobatic model kits, and a wide variety of custom made parts that sold throughout the world, I had rights to produce a scale model for the Raven together with the paint scheme. A one off U.S. airshow plane designed and built by Wayne Handley. I authored many model magazine articles and written reviews on products that became available to R/C hobbyists. I have gained the knowledge it takes to understand what makes an aircraft fly well and what it takes for a pilot and his/her aircraft to excel in this fun but sometimes challenging sport.

I currently fly all types of fixed wing aircraft as well as quad copters and multi-rotor machines. I am also a certified FAA UAV pilot (Current).

How long have you been flying RC?
Continuously since 1967 to date. 20,000 flying hours plus.

What type of aircraft have you flown?
WW1 &11 Warbirds, Aerobatic, slope soarers, Turbines, Helicopters, Quad copters,

What is currently in your hangar?
35% Edge 540, 30%Edge 540, 25% Raven, 28% Laser 200, 3 aerobatic pattern models, 3 own designed models including a bipe, Fightline RC Spitfire, Dynam Meteor, Flightline RC Tigercat, E-Flite Timber, E-Flite Octerra, FMS Olympus, 3 Trainers.

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?
            A 33% Laser 200

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?
            A 50% Piper Cub J3

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?
A small single channel model from the 1960s called the “Weekender”, wingspan 15".

Ever flown a full scale airplane?
I used to own a Kitfox. A home built aircraft, although I didn’t build it.

Where's your favorite place to fly?
The high desert close to where I live. I fly from a dry lake bed.

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
A Skymasterjets BAE Hawk in Red Arrows colors, 1.3 scale.

What's the worst crash you ever had?
I crashed a competition prepared Laser 200. A beautiful flying plane. I had it for several years. It shredded itself through some trees.

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
An inside outside “rolling circle” is a challenge. One roll to the inside and one roll to the out side while flying a 360º circle.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
Find a really good flight instructor, someone who can answer all your questions and explain not only why you crashed, but how to prevent it.

Join in on the fun, guys! Though the thread is titled Motion RC staff, we'd like to learn more about all of you, too. The main point of all of this is that we're ALL pilots. It's the common thread that binds us all together!

How long have you been flying RC?
Decades behind me, and hopefully decades to come.

What type of aircraft have you flown?
I've had the privilege of flying a wide range of aircraft types, from the more common categories like warbirds, EDFs, ICDF, turbines, helicopters, gliders, control line, to the less common categories like F5D, DS, three autogyros, and even a dirigible. From Free Flight to Cox .010, the small stuff is always fun, and thundering turbines and fast hotliners are exciting, yes, but overall I'm a strong believer that it isn't what one has flown or how much one has flown it that makes a single category more valuable than the other. Rather, I believe that everything --anything-- that flies has value and potential for education, historical preservation, relaxation, and fun. This includes rockets, 3D, drones, indoor flying dolphins (See YouTube!). Heck, there is a guy at my field who built his own 8' wingspan aircraft using only straws, string, and Saran wrap! He makes his own propellers from plastic bottles and laminated chop sticks. I admire his passion for perfecting such an obscure category of construction.

What is currently in your hangar?
As would be expected of Motion RC's lead product manager, I have too many aircraft to count! Easily over 75 in two states. Aside from a horde of secret aircraft for work, I have a trove of personal aircraft that I've accumulated over the years. Admittedly most are spread across multiple storage rooms and haven't flown in a while during my time with Motion RC since my focus is on developing our range of foam electric products. With a mixture of flight ready to still-in-the-box, these old birds include an ASM DH-188, 1/4 Sopwith F.1, Kyosho Panthom, YA F-18, MP Sonic Liner, JHH A-7, an ICDF Starfire, a gaggle of Q500s, and most of a Jepe A-4.

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?
Don't make me choose among my children! If I absolutely had to limit my flying from today forward to just three planes, it would probably be: Freewing Avanti 80 for EDF, original Radian for overall foamy, and BVM Bandit for favorite aircraft of all time.

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?
Largest and heaviest are two different things. I have stick time in an Avanti XXL and a 1/2 scale J-3.

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?
Smallest by span would be the Quadrone Micro. It's about two inches across.

Ever flown a full scale airplane?
Cessna 152 and 172, primarily, and also a Schweizer 2-32, Twin Astir, Cessna 305, and some stick time in a J-3 Cub and Mooney Cadet years ago. I have flown a seabird in Alaska in between hops a handful of times, but I must admit I was always too scared to land on water and have never actually done it. I'm hoping Sandor takes me up in his Cirrus sometime soon. I hear it's a handful.

Where's your favorite place to fly?
I split most of my RC flying time between Apollo and our private test field. I prefer to fly with friends like Xplaneguy and Evelyn and our group of compadres, as fellowship is often the most fun part of flying!

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
Anything that was impossible to crash and impossible to break and transported itself to the airfield. Also, a Beechcraft Starship.

What's the worst crash you ever had?
As a product developer, part of my job IS to induce crashes, as we test the limits of many aircraft before releasing it to the public. But as for a personal plane's crash, I'd say the worst was a head on mid-air between my two flight A6M and an ASM Panther at a large event. Both total losses. He was flying reverse pattern and acknowledged he should not have been there, taking up his large valuable aircraft when there were already six planes up at that time flying in the correct pattern. My plane was replaceable but I felt far worse for him because his ASM Panther was gorgeous and finding a new KIT at the time was like finding unicorn eggs. We helped each other pick up the pieces and had a good chuckle about it. And the CD did announce over the PA that we had won Best Crash of the event.

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
In a jet: A simple, ultra slow, barrel roll, without any departure from the initial level datum line. At high speed it is easy but at slow speeds this maneuver is difficult for me to accomplish cleanly with a jet. In a 3D aircraft: A power off continuously rolling descent from 400 feet that transitions directly at 15 feet to a three point helicopter landing. I've seen a pilot at Apollo do it. Granted he's a world-level 3D competitor, but it is magical to watch and I can only dream.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
What comes up, must come down. It is your duty and responsibility to do everything in your power to maximize the probability that when it comes down, it does so when and where you want it to come down. Simulator training, flight instructor, proper tools and equipment, club support and field mentors, safety checks and best practices... it all emanates from the first mentality that you are responsible for bringing your aircraft down safely and away from doing harm to anyone or any thing. As we like to say, "Takeoff is optional, but landing is mandatory".

And a bonus tip: Don't be mean. It is free to be nice. Be patient with the Beginner's questions, understanding of the Addict's addictions, appreciative of the Veteran's advice... because at some point, you will be all of these.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?

Never fly when you're nervous. Always calm yourself, before you fly.

Well, first of all, I don't really work for Motion R/C, but I am a Moderator here on the squawk and I'm rewriting the manuals for them, so I guess, in a way, I contribute. Got a nice E mail From Aros asking if I'd contribute to the thread, so here goes:

How long have you been flying R/C

Three complete seasons now. Hard to believe, and looking forward to season number 4! I started out as many of us have, with a little Supercub on a side street here in Cody, Wyoming. I had just moved down here from Surrey, BC, Canada to start a new life and was thinking about getting my pilots licence. Trouble is that even once you have it, it costs a mint to rent a plane, so I didn't think it was very cost effective. Then I remembered R/C!! I started checking out different websites and was amazed at what was available in foamies! Motion R/C stood out from the rest at least to me. I like the idea of a veteran owned company and so I took the plunge. If you want to see the adventures of Grossman, you can look up 'All Us Newbies, lets share' thread.

What type of aircraft have you flown?

Man, after the list that the other fellas have....Well, I have my SuperCub (Ol' Weedwacker) that I started out with (Still in great shape I might add!), E Flite Apprentice, E Flite Spitfire, Pandoras, RocHobby Waco, FMS P-51D, P-51B, P-40, Pitts, Freewing P-51D, Flightline F8F Bearcat as well as a Big Stick and a Low 'n Slow while at Dave Scott's !st U.S. Flight School.

                        What's Currently in Your Hangar?

See above, thirteen planes so far, all from Motion R/C.

What is your Favorite Aircraft You Have Flown?

The FlightLine F8F Bearcat!!!! Man that plane is SMOOTH!

What is the largest/smallest airplane you have flown?

My smallest is the Super Cub, the largest (so far) are my 1450 mm Mustangs.

Ever Flown a Full Scale plane?

A Piper Cub and a Taylorcraft. When I was helping rebuild our DC-3, a lot of the guys at the field would ask if we wanted to go for a flight, it was really great of them, and they gave me some stick time. My first flight was in a DC-3, since then I've had a few others, most notably in the Otis Spunkmeyer DC-3 out of San Francisco, and buzzing around Mount Rainier in the jump seat of a Convair was fun!

Where's your Favorite place to fly?

I tell you, that's a tough question! I do most of my flying at out home field here in Cody, Have been out to the other fields and when down to Riverton this summer to one of the other clubs fly in. All great times, but in all honesty, there is NOTHING like AMA HQ at Muncie!! It's like you died and went to airplane heaven!! Then throw in the likes of Charlie Brown and Lon and Mike and Ryan and Ben to fly with, if that ain't perfection, its dang close!!

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?

                        The next one!!

What's the worst crash you ever had?

When I maidened 'My Little Gal I'. Lost connection to the receiver after dropping the gear after a great maiden flight, gear came down, she nosed down and smacked into the middle of a gravel pit. The only thing salvageable from the fuse was the horizontal stab, so I took it home and bought another fuse, tail and set of wings and build 'My Little Gal II'. When I tried the gear on the bench, the servo tester blue screened, I found that it was the gear sequencer went wonky and that's why I lost control. That crash unnerved me for quite a while. Took MLGII to Nefi and got Captain Mike to maiden her. I had so much time invested with applying Flite Metal, that I just couldn't do it. She flew great! Thanks Mike!!

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?

All of them!! In all seriousness, I'm working on inverted flight using the F8F. That plane is so great I got up enough nerve to try it a bit.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?

When an experienced pilot offers advice, LISTEN! They're giving it away for free. If it hadn't been for the guys here helping and guiding me, I'd have a great heap of smashed foam to show for my effort and money. Don't be in a hurry to strap on a warbird. The first plane I bought was my FMS P-51D Big Beautiful Doll. Then I came to my senses and got the Super Cub. I flew almost a full season on her and then got into the Pandoras. Like Lon stated,"When you can take off and land the Pandora 50 times with success, you are ready to try the Warbirds on." How right he is, and even then, buddy box with someone with experience. Check, check and recheck that airplane. Screws come loose, so do motor mounts, gear retracts, prop blades wings, wheels, you name it. I've had them all, most of them I've caught because I crawl all over them when I get home from the field.

Then there's the ones that I didn't catch, Keeps my rectal muscles in great shape!!

                        Happy Landings

How long have you been flying R/C
I started with Cox Control Line planes and Tether Cars in the mid 70's and I built my first planes while stationed at Pope AFB in 1981 using a Futaba Radio System.

What type of aircraft have you flown?
WWI & WWII and most things in between from Low Wing to Mid Wing to High Wing to BiPlanes to EDF Jets to Nitro and Electric Helicopters along with a Quad Copter. Phew! Having worked at Hobbytown USA for several years I have tried just about all I could get my hands on and don't ask me to remember what they all were. Most were resold or took a dirt nap.

What is the largest/smallest airplane you have flown?
Hangar 9 100" Wingspan Super Cub and Parkzone Vapor

Ever Flown a Full Scale plane?
I have about 3 .5 Hours of Pilot Training in a Cessna 152 however I have over 3000 Hours as a Loadmaster on C-130's & C-141's and no they never let me fly one.

Where's your Favorite place to fly?
Currently http://foxvalleyaero.com/ but I will go to a local School or open Subdivision if necessary.

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
1/3 Scale Fokker DR1 Triplane from BalsaUSA and no it would not be in the Red Baron scheme.

What's the worst crash you ever had?
My former ExtremeflightRC 88" Extra with a DA-50. Flying formation with my buddy and I just glanced over to his plane to judge the closing speed and caught the Right Wingtip in the corn and it was all she wrote. A Knifedge at a foot or so above the corn in formation is no time to even quick glance away. Period!!

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
Pick one as I have never taken the time to perfect any one maneuver but I can fake my way thru most of them.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
Find a local club in your area and see if they have a training program as it is better to get some Buddy Box Training if you can and why tear up your stuff! If that is not possible then the Flight Sims can help but if you want to just dive in then get something like the HobbyZone Sportsman S+ and or the Apprentice. Just take your time and listen and watch others at the clubs as most are generous with the advice and will help you out if they can and if you see everyone landing and going into the shelter when a certain person starts their plane then follow suit and do the same. More than likely in a few minutes you will know why!! Every club has one of those.

I have some serious club envy. What I would give if the club by me was like yours. Flat, long, nice paved runway...Man.

There is not a paved runway within 200 miles of me that is RC friendly, I am right there with ya Aros...Lucky duck...

                                Hi Guys

How long have you been flying RC?
I got started in the hobby in 1984 by my brother. My dad started in 1978. In 1984 my brother got me a sig ringmaster control line. Then in 1991 I had a summer job and bought a Hobbico Superstar 40. That was the end for me and money after that point.

What type of aircraft have you flown?
I have flown line control, really hated them dang finger cutters. 049. civilian, WW1, WW2. Nowadays I fly EDF's and a few gliders. I have flown heli's but gave that up!

What is currently in your hangar?
I have 100 planes in my care and it is well dispersed ranging from a kit built 1/4 J3 balsa USA. Mustangs, TA-152, Sopwith Camel 60, Bonanza, F-14 (15/16), Eurofighter, Stinger 90 and 64, VQ Tripacer, B-25, FlightLineRC P-38, Spitfire, Prometheus, Dynam Waco etc...

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?
I think at this point the Stinger 90 is the best of the best all around hot dogging it. Then the Prometheus or Dynam Waco. I also like to fly my Cessna Skymaster which is very stable.

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?
                                My balsa 1/4 J-3 Cub.

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?
The micro planes the Mosquito, T-28, Champ, P-40, Beast, Albatross etc....

Ever flown a full scale airplane?
Yes I have 8 hours logged in a Cessna 150 and 152. I have flown with the pilot in a Tripacer, J-3, Vagabond, Piper Arrow, Champ, Kitfox, Bonanza and 182.

Where's your favorite place to fly?
A Privately owned full scale airport. It has a 2,300 feet black top runway and nothing around to hit. I think the closest tree to me is like 200 yards out on the right hand side. If I were to hit that I need better glasses!

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
The F-14 was the one I wanted and now that I have it the next would be a civilian plane, either the Decathlon or a Citabria of course in the 1700mm class. Or maybe the Bonanza in 1700mm. Lights, pilots, I would go nuts over that or even an OV-10 Bronco.

What's the worst crash you ever had?
Probably learning to fly. Smashed my Superstar 40 straight into a tree about 100 feet up. It was raining balsa graffiti and the motor went straight into the dirt road. I did not get anything back after that, not even the fuel tank.

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
I would like to be able to perform The Waterfall.

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
BUY A BEGINNER PLANE like the Sportsman S+ or Apprentice. Start there first. Once you master that and are able to takeoff, fly and land safely and comfortably with no gyro then you're ready to go farther. You could even use a RC simulator as they do help out a lot.

Hey guys, I'm Brian, the warehouse manager here at Motion RC.

How long have you been flying RC?
My venture in to RC aircraft started in December of 2011, I had gotten my son (8 years old at the time) a small air hogs coaxial helicopter. Naturally he was not that interested in it and I played with it more than he did, until I found myself not wanting to put it down, ever! I then graduated to a "Hobby grade" coaxial heli and then a collective pitch heli, needless to say I spent hours and hours trying to learn how to control it. After weeks of crashing and hundreds of dollars I was finally able to hover it.

What type of aircraft have you flown?
I have flown several different collective pitch helicopters, many different warbirds, a couple trainer planes and a few racing quads.

What is currently in your hangar?
What is currently in my hangar is a Align Trex 450 and 550, Synergy E7, FMS P-51 Gunfighter and P-51B Dallas Darling, FMS Sky Trainer, Dynam C-188, Roc Hobby V-Tail glider, and a couple racing quads (custom builds).

What is your favorite aircraft you've flown?
Currently my favorite aircraft has to be my FMS P-51 Gunfighter, I just love that plane! Closely followed by my Trex 550

What's the largest RC aircraft you've flown?
The largest RC aircraft I think I have flown would probably be my Synergy E7, I am still impressed by its size every time I take it out.

What's the smallest RC aircraft you've flown?
The smallest RC aircraft I have flown is probably the Eflite UMX Corsair.

Ever flown a full scale airplane?
I have not flown a full scale plane but I hope to someday. I have however, logged about 60 hours on the X-Plane simulator.

Where's your favorite place to fly?
My favorite place to fly is at a local flying field for a small club called "Sky Nights".

If you could have any RC aircraft what would it be?
Oh boy, this changes from minute to minute but as of right now I would have to say the Freewing 90mm F-16 in the Thunderbirds color scheme, or perhaps the Stinger 90.

What's the worst crash you ever had?
The worst crash I have ever had was with my Trex 550, one of the links popped off the main blade control arm causing the blade to strike the boom, it was like someone put a stick of dynamite on it and it went off mid air.

What's one maneuver you haven't been able to master yet?
The maneuver I keep trying and just can not seem to perfect is a rolling loop with my helicopter, I just can't seem to perfect it!

If you could offer a beginner one piece of advice what would it be?
Patience is key in this hobby! Start with a trainer and fly and repair that until you can take off and land without incident.

I have a question that is "sort of" staff related. This thread is quite interesting and has shown us who some of the key players in Motion are. I see on the MotionRC site that the contact address is Cary, IL. With the recent introductions of some new products, I see a few Motion staff are located on the west coast and have been attending events in Phoenix and various locations in S. California. I see Aros is in Washington state. I also see a picture of the management team here:
Company Background Motion RC was founded with a simple premise in mind - to provide a wide selection of top quality RC aircraft, boats, vehicles, and accessories, while offering unparalleled customer service and support. Our goal is to provide our customers with the direct customer support typically found at a local ho

I can only presume that these people are in IL (or are they)? We know who Tom and Mark are. So who is "Alpha"? And since everyone seems to be all over the country, how does everyone relate to the company? Curious minds would like to know.
