Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

Maybe a little off the "beaten path:"

1.) B1B Lancer "The Bone" (fixed wing or not)
2.) F111 Aardvark again fixed wing or not
3.) T-38 Talon
4.) B-58 Hustler!!!!!
5.) Saab Gripen JAS
6.) Panavia Tornado
7.) SU-25 Frogfoot
8.) Mig 25 Foxbat
9.) Something from the VooDoo series?

Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

I guess I should have read this poll first! I just posted one in the product requests section. I love the Freewing F-18. I love it's size and the foam is great. This is the size I would be looking for in these jets:

F-16
F-15
F-86
F-100 (I do have the Fly Fly version in a box that I haven't started on yet!)
F-4 (I have the eflite in a box as well. Bought it because of the big price drop about 2 months ago)

All in the 70-90mm range with retractable gear, flaps would be a plus.

How about some of the earlier jets, those developed late in WWII, and just after the war. There were some German jets that were in development, a flying wing style, that never actually flew but look great. Also, maybe the swept wing cousin of the F9F Panther, the F9F Cougar?

I would love to see the FLY-FLY series of RC Jets in either the 70mm or the 90mm versions.

Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

I have to agree with the previous Taft Hobby Viper jet owner. It's an incredible jet, and I too would've preferred to have the purchase from MRC.

Ordered from China while the price was still relatively low. It hit the states a few weeks ago and the the price skyrocketed.

Only thing is that MRC needs to have availability of parts. Have seem rudder, wing tips, servos, cockpit, nose cone and landing gear, but have never seen the wings to purchase. Luckily haven't needed any parts yet, but we all know what eventually happens.

I'm pretty sure Tom and Mark have researched the Viper by now. So there must be a reason it's not available through MRC yet?

The new Super Snake 8S version is simply amazing looking. It's finally available!

Just a thought MRC!

If I had a choice, I'd like to seem some composite planes available. I know there is a big jump in cost and a drop in sales because of the cost. But this is something I'd like.

Short of this, I would like to see a few more of the 50mm, mini edf jets available. These are a blast to fly and are inexpensive and easy to transport. Perhaps a few kits or even bare bones with no paint or decals.

Let's reanimate this thread. I'm curious what jets do you NOT want to see more of? Model? Size? Are you more into smaller 50-64mm class, or 64mm-80mm, or 90mm+? Scale, or Sport?

Greetings,

I suppose I'll start the ball rolling.
Of the EDFs offered and if I HAVE to choose which I DON'T to see more of then I'll go for the 30 to 50mm option.
I realize your option read 50 to 64mm but I didn't want to include the 64mm EDF's.

Hello Alpha,
What do you think about the new 105mm jet that looks more like a BAE Hawk, but is being called a Super Viper? It's on pre-order through Banana Hobby, but I'm not too keen on ordering planes through them anymore.

Have you looked at that one yet? Thoughts?

I really like the 50mm. Doesn't hurt the wallet as bad if you crash. They are also fun to upgrade.

I've pondered on this.....and simple answer, FWIW? I think you guys are doing a pretty good job cross sectionally with the line of products you're carrying now & have announced for the future. And all I'll say is, keep up the good work!

What's important to me (and should be for others as well, whether they realize it or not) is the feedback & correction relationships you guys are forming with your suppliers. That's something I think has been sorely lacking among the other majors....and I for one very much appreciate your efforts in that direction. They benefit us all.

Doesn't really answer the question, but Sport or Scale, Military or otherwise....as long as I know the quality will be there, I'll consider most anything for purchase if it looks like fun to own & fly.

Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

Noted, guys. Keep the ideas flowing.

I think it is just as valuable to learn what people don't want, in addition to learning what they do want. Market trends shift so frequently, but I believe there are basic preferences which all pilots have, which are more constant. I personally have a preference for scale aircraft, preferably with a notable history. Attention to detail is very important, but performance is still the most important aspect. Efficient design provides the foundation of reliable, satisfying, cost effective performance, which would make any aircraft a contender for a space in my fleet.

I personally would not prefer 30-50mm jets. I prefer 64mm-100mm size jets.

Regarding "add ons", I think there is a balance. I don't need afterburner rings on every jet I own. But in certain rare cases, I would gladly pay a few extra dollars for the factory to install it there.

Would you rather a model came with LED lights and afterburner rings already installed for a slightly higher price, for example, or would you rather they not be installed at the factory and instead be sold as aftermarket options?
