Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

A Freewing twin 64 F-14, with retracts / led's, swing wings, and afterburner rings, would be awesome.. The power setup out of the A-10, I think would work pretty good.. A lot of guys though, would probably prefer a twin 70mm, like out of the SU-35.. That would work also.. I would personally prefer a twin 64 , because of having lots of 4s packs, transporting, and cost.. ''Heck'', ''do both''!!.. Ian

Would definitely love the option of having lights and afterburners already installed.

Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

          My requested lineup would include:

          80 or 90mm A-4 Skyhawk

          80 or 90mm F-106 Delta Dart

          Twin 70 or 80mm Su-25 Frogfoot

Twin 70mm or single 90mm F-15E Strike Eagle

And finally, a 90mm F-16XL. I personally think this is the sexiest jet ever made!

Re: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

            Greetings Alpha,

I have to agree that I don't believe that I would need or even want afterburners and such on every model.
That being said, I think it might be cool to be able to purchase these options on an "as desired" basis.

If these add-ons can pre-installed on certain jets I suppose that would be ok if priced appropriately.

I still like the preferred option of picking and choosing where and when I would use them.

The Multiplex Funjet ( white version so it can be customized) is inexpensive, very well made, and fun! The Doctor

RE: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

I'll resurrect this thread because I was just thinking the other day how the industry is changing in a what I perceive to be a confused and mixed signals release of new birds. I see FMS discontinuing a bunch of the staple airframes in the 1400 size range in lieu of the new releases in the 900-1000mm pocket rockets at 50-75 dollars cheaper. The price is affordable for the working stiff or retiree but the size turns away a lot of pilots including myself. Now on the other end of this is Freewing cranking out some really nice EDF's but at $500 a pop plus a $100 lipo they have out priced themselves for the majority of us including myself at retired income level.
So this thread was originally started looking to the customers for inputs on EDF's and I would just like to say how about some fresh stuff in the $300-350 range. A6A Hokie noted a great request for a 80mm F9F. I requested awhile back in a separate thread that Freewing could do an easy conversion of the F-86 into a Navy FJ-2 Fury livery but nothing. That really is a doable event and it gives customers the ability to represent both the AF and Navy. Most every other airframe out there seems to have 2 different versions except of course the infamous over represented Mustang with FMS for example having 3 in the 800, 9 in 1400 and 2 in 1700. I would like to know if anyone else has the same feelings and what they would like to see come to the planning table for affordable EDF's.
                  Best Regards,

RE: What type of EDF Jets would you like us to carry?

Way out of my price range. The lipos are too much for these birds . I understand they need the power to run them but they are too much for me .
The industry took a hard turn six - eight months ago into the Jet Age . While these are great planes they are as Ov said more than we can afford.
I would rather spend $400 on 2 planes that I have a supply of batteries for than that on 1 and still need a battery for .
From what I can tell the new EDF's are for the younger guys more so than the Gezzers like me .

I agree - it's a shame to see some of the 1400mm discontinued and continuing addition of jets. F-86 to a FJ-2 - great idea. Still like to see F9F Panther in 80mm range. I'm also still a big fan of the 1400mm WWll warbirds. I would also like to see the option of the Navy birds to have decal options for either Navy or Marine Corps.

You're right, the Industry is changing just like all others to help the bottom line. Unfortunately, I mainly fly the 1400 and up EDF's and props, and am concerned about the migration to the smaller pocket rockets. I would think that the major mfg's would offer a multitude of products and sizes in different price points to satisfy demand. MRC has done such a fantastic job not onlly to carry various birds to satisfy our demand, but to maintain the gold standard in customer service by far the best in the Industry. I have no doubt that MRC will take whatever effort needed to offer different products to satisfy our addiction.

                          Greetings,

Indeed!! It's Jets, Jets and More Jets!!

I like jets just as much as the next guy but , Really??

In another post where we were discussing the cancellation of the awesome FMS Pitts Bipe it was stated that the reason for cancellation was "FMS cited the need to sell 500 world wide in order to justify the production." They haven't sold 500 Pitts bi-planes World Wide!!!???

Don't cancel the plane, cancel the Marketing Department!!!

Somehow, I just don't see it being any different with all these high dollar jets requiring $100+ batteries on top of the aircraft cost!!
Seems to me they're all doomed to cancellation at some point.

Take some of that R/D jet money and sink it into improving the quality of some of the existing aircraft!!

                          Just my thoughts,

The big War Birds have a graceful and majestic quality about them . Whether they are roaring past or floating . The glide coming in or the way they climbing on take off . They just put you in awe of them . I get a rush watching them no matter if I'm in control or someone else is .

I second that motion. There is something awe inspiring about prop driven Warbirds,I have felt that way since I was kid. There's nothing wrong with jet Warbirds and I flew on the real deal but props are my favorite.

Totally agree...the marketing dept should be canned for not being able to move that plane. There's nothing like it out there. I wish they had listened to MRC and changed the scheme. From day 1 people complained about the scheme and all of the FMS decals all over it. That's what turned me off from it for 2 years.
Now that I've learned a little more about options in how to change them I decided to get one. I'll definitely buy a second one when I'm done selling off some of my fleet. I need hangar space. I have some nice birds I'm parting with that I just don't have time to fly. With 60 planes in the hangar it's impossible to get to them all.
