LOL!!! Listen, one of our guys when he is flying FPV does a great imitation of Stevie Wonder singing a song the way he looks up and moves his head around. ;)Originally posted by Prowler901 View PostI knew in my mind that it was going to be cool. But, it was even better than I expected. I bought the chair cuz I knew it would throw off my ballance. :) Just standing in my shop and turning the camera would make me lean. :DLauren

Boy, I've tried cheap ones and expensive ones. Neewer circular polarized (Amazon cheapie), ImmersionRC circular polarized and others, but lately I've been trying IBCrazy Airscrew antennas ( http://www.getfpv.com/fpv/antennas/5...enna-rhcp.html ). Honestly, and there would be lots that would take issue with me, the cheap ones seem to work as well as the expensive ones with the difference being quality of solder joints. I'm sure the IBCrazy ones are better and deliver more range but with the 200mW that most of mine are the cheap ones work fine. As for penetration through trees etc. that's more dependent on the frequency band. 5.8ghz isn't great for penetration but it is better for clear path range. I know for awhile some of the high end quad manufacturers switched to 2.4ghz video and 5.8ghz control as 2.4 penetrates better but I'd rather lose video than control. My Phantom 4 penetrates very well and I think is using 2.4ghz for both control and video but I'm not sure how they are doing that. I have noticed that it doesn't like someone nearby flying on 2.4ghz though. I can easily fly a mile or two out with no one else flying but not very far when anyone is up in the air. Kind of weird. Anyways, long answer which should have just been, "Nope, trees in between on 5.8 isn't a good thing". ;)Originally posted by Prowler901 View PostHey, Lauren. What sort of RX antennas do you use? I'm wondering if I can fly behind trees and receive my signal. Currently I'm just using Cloverleaf antennas. My TX is 200mW.Lauren

Thanks, Lauren! That was all very helpful. I am running a 5.8GHz system, so I'll avoid the trees for now. ;) And, thanks for the info on the antennas. I just have cheapies from banggood now. They've performed well at this point in the high school soccer fields. But I don't think I'll be pushing any range limits with them. :)

Just remember picture break up you can fly through but as soon as you see snow turn around! :)Originally posted by Prowler901 View PostThanks, Lauren! That was all very helpful. Hi bradl4648 Welcome to the FPV world, you will make a lot of friend on here or FPV racing and learn from each other. I like FPV too with all kits, These days i writen a article about Building your own drones – FPV 250 In a few simple steps, FPV 250mm is more and more popular at the moment So i like to fly it. would you tell me what's your FPV?Originally posted by bradl4648 View PostHi every one I thought we would start a FPV topic. Please bring out what you use what you like or do not like. I think we can have allot of fun plus do allot of learning from each other since I'm just learning to. Thanks

Yeah I can see them now. That Wildcat is such a great flying airplane. One of Parkzone's top three, ever, in my opinion. What a neat FPV setup on it, it must make for some wild viewing!Live Q&A every Tuesday and Friday at 9pm EST on my Twitch Livestream

I have the Fat Shark V5 Teleporter goggles and the camera/transmitter setup is the 25mw that came with the goggles and isn't good past 300-400 yards. I going to upgrade to a 200mw transmitter soon because the Wildcat is so fast it's hard to stay in my FPV range.
I also use the Goggles with the Blade Inductrix I got from MRC...it's too much fun.

I noticed the "Tomcatter' from VF-31 on your Wildcat. Where you attached with them? I remember seeing that logo all the time over on the fighter line @ NAS Oceana during the early 70's. A close friend of mine was attached with them. I was over on the attack flight line of the base with VA-35 on A-6 Intruders.Warbird Charlie
