Removing Decals from Foam ????

I'm just starting to remove the Decals from my FMS BF-109 1400mm my local hobby store recommend I use Bob Smith Insta-clean, I tried to take off a decal on the tail did wait 1 to 5 mins no luck. Help needed please any recommendation or tricks I could use would be most grateful for any help.

Apply packing tape, pull back at a sharp angle. It will take off the decal and most of the paint.

Stickers will come off with ice being rubbed on them but decals will not. I’m redoing my FMS BF-109 too. Since mine has some “hangar rash” i just took them off and applied spackle on the decal areas and rash. Next step, sand and at least two coats of Minwax Polycrylic brushed on with a sponge brush. Prime and paint.

I have found I get the best results by priming and painting over them. No foam damage and it's already smooth.

I've done this previously with light sanding and paint over them. Spackle from Sherwin Williams not the stuff at wally world.....prime and paint doesn't work

Take a can of air duster turn it upside down to get the refrigerant out. Spray upside down. It will freeze decal and then it will peel right off. I used this method for twenty years removing mylar from pinball playfields. Use gloves as can gets cold. PPE and all

Actually prime and paint does work. But it takes several coats of primer to fill the hole left by ripping off the decal. I use lightweight path and prime from Lowes. It's not a 5 minute solution. You have to patch it, sand, prime, sand prime until it comes out.
I have had less than good results with ice. But I am sure ice works on the factory stickers. Not so well on Callie Graphics vinyl.

For removing vinyl without lifting paint, I use a very sharp, new, xacto blade and careful pulling. I have done this many times and it works for me. No paint lifted.
