Don’t even need a sprayer - using a disposable foam brush! I will spray the clear after Graphics go down, just to give the depth I want.

Time to bump this thread to the top again. Couple of pics of the coolest new technique with the Polycryllic and glass cloth. Because these are parts for the landing gear and pants, I used some heavier cloth - 1.5 oz as opposed to the 0.5 oz used over the fuselage. Plastic parts take on a whole new level of strength. No split edges, no fractures around drilled holes, reduced flex yet still easy to trim and fit.

:Goodbye: my models were all stored away and my life was about to take left 90 and a right 270. I’m still finding new techniques everyday. But the last time I had cut any balsa, an EDF was the running joke and Astro-Cobalt was pretty much all the choice

I do similar but I like using silk instead of fiberglass cloth.

I grew very fond of using silk in the 1970's.

I could see that working well also, especially with really thin plastics. I’ll remember that!

First coat went on last evening, fuselage bottom got 1 thin coat. Gotta travel until Saturday, so no more progress until I return. GF has vowed to shoot anyone attempting to enter...

She has some color, only 2 coats now, but it stands out so nice. I think I will spray the next 2 coats along with the clear. Measuring wires and starting that bit of tedium...

Trainer, that looks beautiful. My Uncle actually owned a P-22 Ryan. He restored it, looked better than new. I simply love the Ryan planes.

Thanks Woody.
I too have always liked them, but I must admit I probably would not have ever picked out this kit as a build, had it not been a gift. It has grown on me through the course of the build and research of various different versions and models. She is truly special and look forward to many flights hopefully with this one, but it won’t be the only Ryan I build.
