The wires will ‘sing’ at certain speeds and I did use a deburring tool to shape the leading edges. I hear from many it is a great flyer, so I am looking forward to many flights with her.

      • Taking a bit longer, as I was not content with the one spray coat. Everything sanded with 200 wet, and then #400. One more wet coat, graphics, then clear 2 Coates.

          • Turned a corner today.
Waiting for temps to come up so last spray color can go on exterior. Everything is sanded, cleaned and degreased so I figured it was time to get the reciever and ESC powered up.
            It’s ALIVE!
Had to de-ice the car before flying this morning.

            • One picture only - last coat of white went down at 2 pm. Temps got to around 62 and the sun baked the wet paint dry in no time. So glad I waited. Started cutting masks for stripes...and still need a classy tail # for this unique bird. Click image for larger version

ID:	183120 Even had time to get more clear coat applied. The fuselage is turning out great, but here is a tease. This half got cleared last night with 2 coats.

ID:	183703 Won’t make the maiden tomorrow but definitely in time for the Warbirds Event in April. Don’t want to rush at this point.

ID:	183820 Moving along now, after I get the left wheel assembled I get to secure all those wires again, tighten them up and get everything aligned...like tuning a grand piano.

And normally I would never pick any brass fasteners, but these do look nice.

                                        • Pretty windy weekend, but I did go fly for a bit this morning. ‘Twas ‘sporty’ but 3 birds went up and 3 birds went home in the same flying condition as when they left.
It was a great weekend to make progress toward the maiden flight with the Ryan STA. And, while some things were allowed to dry, I got the Goldberg Sophisticated Lady motor glider airworthy. Need to check the CG yet, but she is ready to maiden as well.
