Hey Drifty.
I'm not a big fan of the Air frame. When you consider I've been a professional aviator most of my adult life, and grew up around all sorts of planes, my family on my uncles side were very much aviation people. The only other place I ever remember seeing one of these is on one episode of Pawn Stars. Now when I did see the Pawn Star episode, I did look at the jet. and was a little struck, I couldn't help but notice the eastern block actually made something other than a piece of junk. Nuff said.
My point being mate, if FW had offered their L-39 in your very cool paint work, instead of that, "Bozo the Clown" colored paint job, I think they probably would have sold more of these cute little things.
Best Regards
Woody

I agree, it is a pretty spectacular job for sure. Good Job! Amazing actually. Now thanks to you T33, since I wear actually have a very respectable set of, (Mostly Citizen) watches. I'm just going to have to go get me a ProMaster to add to my collection.Originally posted by t33jetman View Post

Seriously, thank you guys. This was a bit intensive on the masking side, but of course.. a labor of love! The only issue I had was trying to find some numbers for the aircraft. I ended going over to my squadron's corrosion dept and using their plotter to cut some numbers just before I left work!

Thanks! Well, I started by using Polycrylic clear matte to clear the aircraft prior to painting. Then, The yellow is Krylon ColorMax on the wingtips and bottom. After that, The grey tones are just regular Tamiya Paints. Finally, I shot the same Polycrylic Clear Matte over everything (including the weathering). The White on the nose is just Valspar Color Radiance Flat White.

Been wanting to do this for ages now. This is the Freewing 70mm base grey BAE Hawk and I finished it in "Yellow Squadron" livery from Ace Combat 4. (not EXACTLY the same but more or less the major details are there!)4 Photos

Here is my repaint using the colors for the Mod Eagle Scheme. My 8S setup from MRC arrives tomorrow. Can’t wait to see how she performs with the upgrade.1 Photo

Some of mine in the foreground and Jeff's F22 and 3D plane as well as our newest member, just had to post it again, he's 9. Looped his Apprentice 5 times in a row on Sunday. A future force to be reckoned with!!

specialized in airbrush and silkscreen, but also did a lot of trade show and museum exhibits.
Almost wound up at NASA but Sirkorsky and McDonnell-Douglas froze hiring as I was finishing my ME Assoc. degree.Third try and I got into the Aviation career field. Cost me everything, but it worked out well.
That’s fun flying there!
