Then we're loosing altitude, we we're only a couple of hundred feet, just off the departure end. I seriously thought we were going down. Darn thing back fires, (LOUD) about twice, engine cleared up, ran fine. I told him to take me back right now. He did. Seriously thought I was gonna die.

Shame on you for recommending they make a model out of that darn thing! LOL

PS if ya gotta have a private plane, how about a Bellanca Super Viking. Most people that owned those took care of em.

        LOL, probably a Continental Engine!
Actually, why buy one when I get to teach new owners how to operate these:

PS Hey Trainer if you don't mine me asking what is the VNE on that plane? In regards to the Navion. In all fairness every once in a while I would see one that certainly showed pride of ownership. Kept in a hanger, nice paint, and looking like new. not many though. Most weren't. almost always kept on a tie down, in the weather for months and years on end. The one I had a bad experience with, belonged to a, "GOOD" friend of mine when I was growing up. He later sold it and bought a really nice, "Pacer". Flew in it many times, he basically taught me how to fly tail draggers in it.

Don't remember which engine actually. But continentals are good mate, always a little oil here and there but great engines. But Navions really were never too strong in the HP department to begin with. At least most of them. W

HSD T-33 just announced on Banana Hobby.

Let's not hijack this thread and take this discussion to RCG.

Neither the M500 or M600 has a Vne, because it is:
                          Turbine powered
                          Pressurized cabin
                          Cieling above 25,000 ft. MSL
For those reasons, it is then determined as either Vmo, Mmo or both. The M500 has a Vmo of 188 KIAS. The M600 has a Vmo of 274 KIAS or Mmo of Mach .55.
Both are certified for Known Ice and 30,000 ft MSL.

Navions were underpowered but we’re cool looking because of the canopy style airframe. The remaining few are so heavily modified and pristine they are Hangar Queens or in museums.
Sorry for the hijack, back to our regular programming...:Whew:

You'd be better off with the Lander RC version. It's been around long enough to have all the kinks worked out and comes in four liveries and a P-80 configuration.

I wouldn’t say that.. I have the Lander version on the bench and it’s quality is definitely not great. It’s EPS with minimal detail, a bad spar design, questionable gear, poor fitting plastic parts, and the RCG thread is full of reports of high speed stalls. It is nowhere near what I would consider the quality of any modern EDFs. I’m actually probably going to wait on more details on the HSD one before starting the build, as I might just upgrade if reports are good.

                                    • They should be answering soon. This thread has been running for over four months, so it's probably at saturation. And even if the event you were going to announce at is cancelled, you should still do it instead of putting off until the next big event. Do that too many times and you lose your reputation and customers.
