    Hello All,

I just recently acquired an A6, I was wondering if anyone had the external pylons/tanks for sale?

Also in the manual it mentions optional bombs and racks, does anyone know if these are available?

    Thanks for the help!

Funny you mention being half deaf from being around A-6's. I have a funny story about the A-6 on the USS America. Needless to say they were LOUD!

Post-accident investigation revealed that the plastic housing had split on both sides and the flange was broken on both sides. There was no metal flange reinforcement. I ordered a new nose gear servo and metal flange reinforcement. I guess landing on the mains and keeping weight off the nose gear is going to be de riguer.

On another subject: CG. I ran the Mean Aerodynamic Chord calcs. It looks like placing the CG at 30% back of the leading edge at MAC puts the CG at the leading edge of the fan housing, about 0.4 inches further back than the manual recommends. I'm going with that as a starting point. I think the CG can be placed even further aft. Time will tell.

There is always a chance, i have several jets and lots of them with no issues with cracked plastic but i had one and for some reason it just went on the first flight.

Yes, I am posting here in the off-chance someone from MRC actually sees this and has some insight on if it changed or not.

So, I had a bit of an opsie with my OG A6 which I bought about 5 or 6 years ago. The nose got a bit crunched up. And while it's definitely repairable, the A6 is my favorite airplane and I wanted it to look good, so I decided to buy a brand new fuselage instead of salvaging the old one.... and holy hell does it make the motor sound awful. It so loud and...i dunno...hollow(?) sounding now. I honestly thought the motor was out of whack or something, but then I tested it right next to a friend's (newer) A-6 and it sounds the same. Ugh. My original A-6 was from 5 or 6 years ago and sounded MUCH better IMO. I wonder if they changed anything to do with the ducting in the newer A-6 air pipe? If anyone from MRC sees this and knows the answer, please let me know.

Either way, I don't like how it sounds now. It's slightly better if you remove the central drop tank. But, I flew my old A6 with that drop tank on all the time and it never sounded this terrible.

The original A-6 was very low powered but the later ones aren't bad. The 2150 in my Mirage was a disappointment, I think it needs more air flow. I am thinking the A-6 might be the same. Good luck and let us know how it works.

going to try the 2150kv fan in my A6 probably wont see much speed improvement as it seems to be alot of drag on the model..wonder if it will be stronger then the so called high performance 1920 9 blade

This is the unit in the A10. The unit has a servo box underneath it that may make it impossible to fit in the A-6. Give me a day and I’ll measure that box up and post.

i would not go with the A6 as a first EDF, she has a few...lets say unfrendly charactaristics, at least compared to other planes...not sayin that she is a bad flyer, but as a first EDF i would go with something else, maybe a Avanti-S or a T-33...but of course thats your choice to make
