  • Flex Jet Pro

I recently put together the new FJP.
I had first seen the model at Florida Jets back in March. This is a larger composite fuselage version of the Flex Jet. The wing, stabs and rudder are of balsa construction and film covered. They are very light. The model has two features that set it apart in this class.
properly designed and full ducting to the fan.
Full gear doors which really clean up the airframe. The model comes with beautifully designed and manufactured gear designed to handle the roughest of surfaces plus ball bearing wheels and hard rubber tires. The wheels can be switched out to a version equipped with eBrakes. The preinstalled doir and steering servos are HV types.
The model requires 5 servos and the power system of your choosing either EDF or turbine.
I equipped mine with an 8 cell DS51 and YGE HVT controller. The esc had built in telemetry that talks to most modern radios. I also installed an Aura 8 FCS and used the advanced programming which also has nose gear stabilization and turns the steering off when the gear is retracted.
I have one flight on the model to date and was very pleased with the performance. It is quite fast and good vertical performance.

The esc mounts to the bottom of the battery tray and is positioned just above a NACA shaped opening in the fuse bottom. There is a relief between the inlet ducts that allows the fan to draw air over the esc ensuring cool operation.

Attended the EDF meet in Charlotte last weekend. They have a very nice grass field. The landing gear performed beautifully. I made 4 flights getting the model trimmed, now playing with the CG position moving the packs back.

Great looking jet. I spoke with Andrew at RCJetwerx a few months ago about this bird. I was looking at doing a 12S setup on it He said 2 6S 5000mah packs was about as much as you could stuff in this jet with the space that it has. I'm still considering picking one of these up over the winter and doing an EDF 12S setup.

The packs will need to have a small footprint to fit with ease.

I’m putting one together right now with a Jetfan 90mm HET 1500kv on 9s. What CG are you using now? CG gear up or down.

                      Thanks

Beautiful Jet! How much flight time are you getting per flight?

Truly outstanding! I have been eyeing this one as a FPV platform. How’s the clarity on the canopy?

To clarify, mine is a turbine!

Ok. So it’s a turbine. Does that effect clarity on canopy if one choses EDF for power? The kit comes with the same canopy one assumes…
