Every time that's happened to me it was either because my throttle trim and sub-trim weren't turned all the way down or i'd over-shot the ESC calibration and it went into the next mode before i could throw the throttle stick back down...Originally posted by ddillon@barnhartcrane.com View PostF 14 twin 80 mm has power and green light on reciever but I have no function. I'm guessing it may be your trims though...
New to this too, so Evan D is probably a much better resource...

Also, that's a tough bird to fly. If you're new to EDFs, you may want to start with something much smaller and cheaper... and whatever you do, don't swing the wings back until you're 120% sure you have the trims right. I watched a friend of mine who's been flying for 30 years put 2 into the ground within a week of each other last year due to these issues...

The ESCs have two battery connectors, probably EC5 and three connectors that look like servo connectors. Two have three wires and they are the throttle and get Y'ed into your receiver throttle channel. One has only two wires, red and black, this is the BEC power lead and is what powers you receiver, servos and retract and gives your motor the signal for throttle (through the receiver). You plug this into a spare receiver port or even on an appropriate slot of the E05. See attached drawing.
