The problem is the 70mm width. the tip of the canard servo arms are about72mm apart. On mine the strap is right there too. My 6+2 is 66mm wide and too close to the servo arms for me so I stack the 2 atop the 6, mostly because of the strap. If you reposition the strap and are super careful it may be okay. You might be able to place the battery on its side but may have to trim some foam under the canopy. Mine are only 40mm tall and 130mm long. Also balance may be an issue. Mine are 800g for the two and all the way back and balance just right.

Thanks for your analysis, looks like it is a solvable issue. Question is not if I will get one, only when...:)

I think an X45 is the right thing to put in.

Well here's what I think is the first vid showing the 8S J-10 operating from a grass runway.

The 8S setup is a real beast, the plane just wants to launch itself and fly

It's a vid with the best parts of 2 flights, the lighting conditions weren't good at all and I had to cut away a lot of unfocused parts. But it has 2 take offs and landing, roll, loop, split S, low pass, ...

I'm really happy with the plane, this one will give me no problem on my short 80 metres only and bumpy grass runway.

Well I love my J10 very neutral flying a alpha monster great landing gear, I did refinish mine to help me see her otherwise no complaints from me at all would buy another if something happens to this one

Looks cool, I just won't buy a Chinese plane that probably used other countries tech to design this plane. Not in my hanger. Looking forward to the next 1600mm warbird!

I got the 8S version and everything works, but for some reason the ESC will not arm. I will have to open it up and see what is happening. It does look amazing and I can't wait to fly mine.

Personally it's not for me but I have no problem with diversity. US models are ubiquitous so I enjoy any foreign model just for the sake of diversity. There are some nice scale features here that hint to what's to come for future Freewing models. I look forward to them.

Freewing is a Chinese company and there is a huge domestic market. Funny you didn't say the same thing about any "American directive" every time when Freewing introduces a US jet.

If it had been a Chinese MiG 15, 17, or 19 something with history and character I’d be all over it. But this subject. Not so much

J-10 was a big deal in China at the time of debut.
