Yay! I ordered the 80 this morning. This will be my first foray into RC flying. I ordered this when I saw that it came with the gyro. I intend on going slow and steady while I learn the basics of EDF flying. Wish me luck!

I strongly agree with Evan’s post… “I would not suggest any EDF as your first RC plane. Even with self leveling the F-22 is not a beginners plane.”
You should start out with a low-cost prop plane. The EDF you will likely crash and be frustrated. Most EDFs are intermediate skill to expert skill planes, and not intended for beginners.
Why? They are fast, things happen quickly, you need to be comfortable with the fact that approaching planes (coming at you) respond in reverse direction to aileron/rudder inputs, and you are only a few seconds away from the ground when you make a mistake.
Slow prop plane trainers are more forgiving when you make mistakes, and they mostly have benign flight characteristics.
The gyro on an EDF is not like a gyro on a drone. A drone gyro (and GPS) typically allows hands-off flying. The gyro on an EDF “assists” with stability ONLY! An EDF gyro does not equate to hands-off flying.

My 1st electric RC plane was the EFlite Habu On 4S it's a decent trainer if you have spent some time on the simulator before that. It's also very fun to fly even when you get better. I just purchased a set of twin ESCs from RC Castle. On the power lead (Y'd together from the 2 ESCs) was this very same red connector. Plugged into it was an external BEC. You can see it here:Originally posted by f4u ausie View Post

When this happens, it's usually because you did not declare in "wing type" ---- "1 AIL, 1 FLAP". Once you do this, it opens up the flap menu where you can then select elevator compensation if desired and deployment time and confirm which switch you wish to use. The MCBe is just a pass through for flaps. The TX tells the RX what to do. The 8360 can have programming in it that could effect the operation of things but I doubt it is doing anything for your flaps. Then, if you have everything wired correctly, the RX sends the flap signal to the MCBe which sends the signal out through the "ribbon cables" to the wing connector. On the back of the wing connector are plugs and the flap servo plugs into one of those.
In my opinion the flaps not slowing has to be in the TX. The one flaps servo could be a loose connection behind the wing connector, either end of the ribbon connector not seated properly, a bad MCBe or a bad servo. Easiest way to find out is to unscrew the wing connector and plug a spare servo in it (or swap the aileron and flap plugs).
I have had well over a hundred FW planes and have had I think 3 servos go bad, one had no solder on an internal lead. I have never had a bad MCBe. The most common reason for others having a bad MCBe is powering their receiver with a non stock BEC or separate battery providing more than the maximum 5.5V it's rated at. Are you running yours stock?

This may be a possibility.
