Hello fellow Hog Drivers. I just purchased the Freewing 64mm V3 but will be changing out the motors to the F14 V2 set-up. I have 4 A10's now. UMX 30mm A10, Eflite 64mm V2, Freewing A10 80mm V2 and now this one just need the FMS 70mm to complete the group.

I've flown my Eflite A10 64mm V2 in 15mph wind so this A10 should do just fine.Originally posted by MMaarrkk View PostHi Guys, Congrats on your new V3 A-10s. This is on my list. How does this stock 64mm on 5000mAh handle 15 mph winds? Would love feedback and to view your videos as well. Thanks in advance! Mark

I had these 2 fans for the Banshee both inrunners also, they definitely are powerful. Removed the stock outrunner from my 64 L39 installed a 65amp ZTW ESC she went from top speed of 93mph to 119mph GPS’d with witness on a slight dive. Freewing did an excellent job on those fans. Working on a new paint Scheme for the A10 currently can’t wait to finish her upOriginally posted by stitch View PostU kno if going change out those out runners for in runners I would use those 2949 2500kv in runners from 64mm f14 those are 6s motors!

Maiden flight today here in chilly Austria. What a fantastic aircraft! No unpleasant characteristics whatsoever. Takeoff from a damp grass runway was absolutely trouble-free. The flight characteristics and the LED lighting are a dream. Not a high-speed jet (it's an A-10, after all). 91 km/h (56.5 mph) with full armament.(6s4000/50c)
108km/h with a spektrum 6s5000/30c without armament.Only the landing flaps require a bit more down elevator input. The flight times are also OK. With a Spektrum 6s 4000mAh 50C battery, flight time is 4 minutes(fast flying). With 3.67V per cell after landing. Definitely my favorite jet.

At the base of the canopy the width is 70 mm, measured at the shoulderposition of the pilot.Originally posted by Couchbr View PostI know that the canopy has the height and the length to fit the Caddx GM3 gimba, but I don’t know about the width.. Could someone measure the width of the canopy centered on the pilot? Thanks in advance.

Now i have a couple of flights on mine and here are my findings (5500mAh HV, CG per manual, all throws as per manual, no gyro): takeoff on gras (our field is bumpy) takes a long run and a lot of elevator pull to get it airborne. It is hard to keep straight on the run if there is any amount of sidewind. Once airborne it handles well and is a real joy to fly, no trimming was required. Verticals are unlimited but it is not fast, and i´m not flying with ordnance. Landings are no problem, but if you use reverse during landing roll you lose a lot of steering authority and the A-10 will try to turn into the wind. After 5 minutes of flight my batteries are around 40 %.
What i will try on my next flights: increase expo on the rudder from 30% to 40% to smoothen takeoff roll, move the CG back a bit, give it more throw on the elevator while reducing the down mix with takeoff flaps and extending my flight timer to 6 minutes.

Yes I had a near miss with mine on a small-field grass take-off. I'm currently at the stock CG, and like to fly with fairly low rates on all surfaces. Despite a nice headwind and some ground bumps which normally throw anything into the air, on my 3rd flight it wasn't for rotating and the boundary fence was fast approaching. So I aborted and slammed the throttle closed. At that point it simply leapt into the air - the abort option was thus gone - and fortunately a quick throttle up, with a very scary few seconds - got me safely away. Obviously the mix of low rates and high power / the high thrust-line provided me with a new learning opportunity!
For the next outing I'll thus be moving the cg more aft - maybe 10mm to start with but noting Jon (two brothers) says 20mm - and using higher elevator rates.
I'm definitely loving everything else so far with this jet. The quick release wings are a real game changer for reducing assembly faff.

I’m always max throws on elevators to me it’s much easier to add expo or use less stick. I fly mine slightly nose heavy on higher winds and of course slightly tail heavy on calmer days. I have 2 one I installed the FW inrunners on then this one stock except the paint scheme but have never had any issues getting up. I do like to get good ground speed on the A10 before rotating but she’s just a awesome plane to fly
