    Hi All

My F22 showed up today opened the box and looked her over I noticed the top of both Wings have the same small holes on the top of the wings surface.

Little bigger then a Pin hole is this normal???

Maybe to attach a luneburg lens while not flying in combat situations? ;)

I have the V2 8S version and am using two 4S older HV SMC 5300 packs (510g each). Came out a little nose heavy with the packs pushed back with the front of the packs right at the Velcro hold down (see pics). Maiden and subsequent flights were fine with literally no trim needed. These packs are lighter than the MotionRC packs recommended and I just surprised the packs wouldn't be centered under the Velcro for the factory CG. Not an issue, but I was thinking of using larger mAh packs in the future and really don't want to add tail weight. Thoughts.

          Thanks

          Nick

I'm using GNB 5300mAh HV packs in 6+2. Weights are 590g + 210g. Awesome batteries, I have 15 of the 6S and 10 of the 2S. I use these in all my 70mm to 90mm EDFs and most prop planes I have. Super hard to find and GNB recently took them off their website, not sure why.

Much more punch than the SMC HV I had.

Those weights are astounding. Very light for the mah size. They're next on my "to get" list.
FYI .................. of all the SMCs my group of flying guys have purchased, 4 of the larger 6s HV ones have been DoA or very shortly after. These were the previous formulation but nevertheless, we've stopped buying the HV ones from SMC. A couple guys just bought some non-HV ones recently. We'll see how those stack up.

My V2 ARF plus is sitting on my table waiting for a couple other projects to get done before extracting the powertrain from my 8s V1 to go into it.

Nice video it's really pitch sensitive on landing with Flaps deployed.

I noticed that, too. Mine doesn't do that. Must be something in the way it's set up.

Hoping it's just not enough down elevator mix when flaps deployed.
                          checking Expo wouldn't hurt either.

I took the the 8s Fan out with Speed control to rewire for XT90 connectors. This allowed me to put my test equipment on the Motor.
Power with the LHIV charged to 4.35 volts per cell pulled a static Load of 122 amps. To say she had some thrust is an understatement.
Still have a few more things to program in my Radio Master TX16s hopefully by next week I will have her all finished.

I'm not a foam airplane guy I see loads of people clear coating them with MinWax water proof poly is it worth the extra step?

I’m having a hard time resisting the new v2. My v1 F-22 has been in the hangar for minor repairs and touch ups. Should have been done already, but I keep getting waylaid by new aircraft.

i have a fairly late model Freewing 90mm fan acquired for another project. I might just buy the ARF+ version when it gets back in stock and and deploy that fan in it. (I do need to confirm the exact fan that I have)

That the V2 stayed the same price as the V1 is a big incentive. My opinion, not just for the F22 is always buy the PnP even if you are not using the fan and ESC as you can always sell them for at least 50% more that the extra cost. The newest fans are really good and the current ESC is a really good one.

Maidened the V2 on Monday and it's really super benign to fly with stock settings. And unlike with the F-16, the stock elev-neutral is correct too ;)
Very predictable, very smooth, and exceptionally easy to land even without flaps. Also very easy to see and the shape makes it easy to judge the model's attitude.

If I wanted to nitpick, it doesn't have plastic on some edges around the cockpit and fuselage that would have really benefited from more protection, so some dings will probably just be a fact of life.

That somewhat depends on what you're using for batteries. According to the specs, the flying weight (without batteries) is 3200g. I use batteries that can be anywhere from 1000g to as much as 1350g.
