Worked on the 90mm and added a lemon Satellite receiver gen 2 as well as a small Capacitor. Minimal amount of weight. I'm not a fan of the stock Aileron throw or Elevator ended up flying on 100% all control surfaces.

Add full span ailerons and tailerons for more roll. Elevator authority? Are you balanced at the stock point? If so move your balance aft. And adding TVs will improve it too.

Evan I agree with you I wanted to Fly it stock on 1st Flight. My future plan for this is to put all control surfaces on separate channels. That will allow me to make a number of mixes.
CG was stock for starters but a bit more Aft would work be preferred I believe.

I'm kinda new at flap-elevator mixes. Should there be any dip on approach using full flaps for landing?

Shouldn't be on the F-22 but if you want to raise the nose for landing add some up mix.

Had a small issue on my V2 Raptor last Sunday, of course being 10s she’s a bit faster than even 8s. It was pretty windy good 15mph winds higher gusts but on a full power low pass I noticed the right elevator shaking itself to death. Slowed my speed and it went away, landed zero issues however after inspection I found the elevator rod had bent so violently it actually damaged the elevator and wrinkled the foam on that side of the fuselage. Been a little busy with my 1/8 RedTails F16 turbine but am planning on adding carbon tube support on the elevators. Just seeing if anyone else has had the same or similar issue, the V1 even on 10s clocked at 170mph never had this happen. Here’s a pic of the slight damage

Did you have a Gyro running on the Stabs at the time of the incident?

Yes I did, update added carbon sleeves around the elevator rods. Flew last Sunday in 10-15 winds everything feels so much better, took care off the slight oscillation it had compared to my V1 that was just rock solid

is that a necessary mod then? I'm waiting for mine to arrive, it will be the 6s variant

I have ran my F22 90mm V2 up to 150mph no Gyro no flutter of any kind the stock metal rods handle it with no issues.
I'm running the stock Servo arm location #2 I noted Shortround91 is running Hole 1

for 6s I don’t believe you will need to just the extra speed I gained from going. 6-8 to finally 10s put a lot more force on the elevators especially with my throws. If your Spektrum for AS3X+ I did have to lower gains to almost nothing for the oscillation, I am running tailerons though. Probably won’t be an issue going standard. I got 5 flights in on her yesterday super rock solid after doing the carbon and of course I make a carbon fiber plate for the nose gear taking pressure off the bracket.

Hi guys, I need your help on a new v2 8s build, and your vast amount of experience with these models I’m sure has got the answers! Please Help!

                            1. I read somewhere (not in the manual) that the elevators neutral position needs to be set 5.5mm above the fuse centerline at the leading edge, to compensate for the thrust angle exiting engine exhaust. Is this true? I tried took a look at doing that and what I see is a major misalignment between the elevator halfs and the 3 glued on foam parts on the back of the model, where half’s mate to the fuse.

                            2. This is a brand new model my wife got be back in mid April, 2 months later now when I get to the build the LED strips in the vertical stabs do not turn on, and yes they are plugged in properly before assembly, all of the other lighting works fine! I’m 30 days out of warranty now, so has anyone ran into this before? Is there some kind of voltage regulator dedicated to those lights?

                            respectfully
                            JB

This should mean that all the light plugs are not only in their correct pins on the board but also that the polarity is correct and that both pins are lined up. I've seen where sometime the polarity is wrong and also that only one pin is lined up and the other pin isn't. If all 3 of these are confirmed good, then you may have a disconnect along the way from the light to the board or the light is dead.

I was thinking about taking off one of the rudders and testing for voltage there at the plug with the plane powered up? The yellow voltage chart in the kit say 3v on the leds, but does that also include the 2” long bar lights led’s the v2 has ? Or do they run on something different?

I really need help on the stab setup too! I can fly it without lights unless there’s some kind or short or something? Safety First!

Stabs by the book. Take both verts off and plug the known good in where the bad is to narrow it down.

Hoping to fly with 6S 6000mAh batteries tomorrow. Has anyone done this?

Not me. I fly HV 5300 590g in my 6S one.

I fly my 8s with 2 of these charged to 4.35 with no issues.
