Then they started again (like you reported) a couple of weeks ago. One of my videos - a running video of an R/C truck I was provided to review - was flagged because I set the video to "Paradise (What About Us?) by Within Temptation. I disputed the claim, and the content owners denied my dispute and refused to remove their claim. I can appeal that decision, but YouTube says that if I appeal it and I lose, they may place a 'Strike' on my account. So I looked up what a Strike is, and YouTube says it's "just a warning" and "not to worry". Also says that Strikes drop from your account after a few months. But the next sentence's tone is very different; states that if you get three strikes your account will be locked, your videos deleted, and you will "not be able to create a new YouTube account". Apparently it's quite a dig deal after all.

All of that to say, I'm still mulling over whether to appeal the decision. Just because I appeal doesn't mean I get a Strike, and if I get a Strike I just have to be a good boy and not rock the boat for a few months until the Strike is dropped. Not sure if it was pressure from the music industry or what; but it's really annoying.... and stupid. My videos aren't monetizing and I'm certainly not trying to imply that Within Temptation is promoting an R/C truck. It's just entertainment. They can monetize the video and keep the proceeds for all I care.

    Hello Mike,
Just a short hijack of thread but thought folks should know why YT is probably concerned.
As a performing musician over the decades(even prior to music download piracy) there is one simple reason that all entities that solicit entertainment have issues........ASCAP.
Here's a start to enlightening others what performers like myself had to deal with.

Back to the F/A-18E. Flew it for the first time since installing the new missiles and raising the nose gear. Still pops off the ground, even with the aggressive AoA, but not as bad as it used to. So I'm just going to roll with it as it flies great and still comes off the runway no problem, even if it's not pretty. And I'm hoping for some longer flight times now that I properly calibrated my throttle.... was wondering why I was killing a 5000 mAh battery in a 4-minute flight.

What are the F/A-18E pilots doing to battery cooling? Was thinking about opening something up to get some airflow in there; was considering a small scoop on the bottom of the nose cone to where it's not really seen.
Strange... Mine rotates beautifully. Very scale... I DO have quite a bit of up EL mixed into my flaps though and use half flaps for takeoff.

I agree. Copyright, especially in the music industry is a very delicate and touchy subject. Artists are always suing one another for copying what they believe is something that was stolen from them. It's always about the money but it's also about pride. "You" may not benefit from it but what about someone who downloads it and re-posts it to another site of even back to YouTube and then monetizes it. Vimeo? ----- Just wait till they get as big as YouTube and the copyright lawyers come for them. It's all good till someone takes someone else to court.

That's good info, thanks for posting that. My intentions certainly aren't nefarious; I just simply thought the song was fitting for the video. I don't monetize my videos on YouTube and absolutely wouldn't want a dime for someone else's work. Heck if YouTube could monetize the video and send the funds to Within Temptation or whoever the copyright holder is, that would be perfectly fine for me. I'm sure these rules are in place for those that abuse things like that; as with most things it's the idiots that ruin it for everyone else.

I use half flaps as well and do need to mix even more elevator into flap I think. Once I take off and retract the gear & flaps, the nose drops quite a bit until it gets on step... the only jet I have that does this. So I think I'll try a little more elevator mixed into the flap to see if that helps. I've also disabled the TV and know that's part of my punishment for jackrabbit takeoffs.

Ah yes ASCAP. Brings me back to my days in NYC trying to become a rock star. Good times. :)

MIke, I've found with mine if I can hold off on the rotation just another 25 or so feet from where I would normally rotate and slowly and gently apply back pressure she lifts off very scale like. In other words, if I try to rotate, let's say at 100 feet, I have to apply more and more back pressure until she pops up like we hate. If I can instead rotate at 125+ feet this appears to be her sweet spot for a clean, scale rotation, even though it's a lot closer to the end of my runway so it's a balancing act for me.

I've had some requests for my SPM file with the flaperons mix. Feel free to PM me your email and I will send it over. It's not working as a direct download off my server for some reason.

Just wondering if the music with this video is public access (see credits near the end)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co8LKJh6Xc0

Thanks Aros; didn't fly this weekend but I'm planning on going to a fly-in this Saturday. Will wow 'em with my sweet EDFs and electrons. I'm thinking I might need more throw too on the elevator so I'll try that as well.

I maiden my friends F-18 last week and went great. Nice smooth takeoff and no popping in the air like others said. Its pretty fast as well. I really dont care for the TV's . I used high rates on elevator with some expo and was perfect. Low rates on ailerons . Sure slows down nice on landing as well

Yeah she's a sweetheart, right? Well my flight today didn't go as planned. Nasty crosswinds but I was itching to fly. Had to come in with a high approach over the trees due to wind direction and she came in HOT. I should have employed flaperons but I was too busy trying to just get her down with the winds. Wing tip salsa ensued and I tried to steer her away from the 6 feet of curb but the curb was hungry and had F-18 on the menu. @#$@!!

I've fixed her since but I was plenty ticked. Of course it couldn't have went 2 feet to the left or right.

I really want a C model..... I don't care for the looks of the super hornet that they already make. Especially with that god awful thrust vectoring that the real one doesn't have....

I love the looks of mine; got a lot of compliments from folks on both the V1 and V2. But I 100% agree about the thrust vectoring... no more, please.... especially on planes that their full-scale counterparts do not.

I don't know why FW went with TV on this model. Hopefully if and when they do a new model/version they move away from gimmicky amenities. Just give me the scale goods that make sense and represent the full scale faithfully.
