Hi, Flygirl... It was all I could do to get my photo at the heading of my posts. Actually, my wife did  it! It's a pretty simple replacement. I used VERY thin steel wire. Put them through the connectors. Adjusted everyting straight. Tightened down on the wire and bent it just to keep it from slipping through. The springs, from Ace Hardware, work great. Be sure your springs don't put too much tension on your rudder servo. I had to give my springs a little stretch to remove some of the tension. I wish I knew how to post a photo. I want to show off my Dynam Tiger Moth paint job, as well as my rudder setup. Doc

Yup! Sitting here waiting to get built! I want to get some Polycrylic on it before I build it and paint a couple of little details but the impatient part of me says get it ready to fly this weekend. LOL!

I was intrigued by the Ready Made RC LED lighting, ordered the RMRC Navigation Lighting System, short money at $13, Initially got these as the stock wing-tip LED strobes that came with my Beaver we're quite weak in comparison with my friends Beaver when we put them together, so my intention was to just replace them. Well that's not so easy as taking a look at the lights on the end its just bare brittle copper wire in there. So I decided to chop up the light kit a bit and just add some on to the plane (which took a little splicing etc as the light kits wires are too short for a plane of this size), I plan on taking this baby dusk flying often!

Added some rearfacing LED wingtip strobes, landing lights on the assembly and the red beacon on the bottom of the fuselage. Looking at this thing head on after I turned off my flood lights, this thing Is wicked bright, and should really look good coming in for a landing as the sun sets!

Edit: And I also stuck on the big tundra tires that come stock with the latest version. Look's like a big beefy bush plane now!

Yes the Island Wings version (red and silver scheme) comes with the Tundra tires stock.

Took it out flying today, lots of fun, wind kicked up to a considerable breeze, 10-15 mph and some gusts that were probably in the 20 range, anyways me and my buddy were doing some tight patterns, kicking it around to set up some short finals, and some touch and goes. Haven't had many planes so far, but this one is by far the favorite and its going to be hard to beat.

Threw a few of them into the video, again wind was moving, need to continue to practice using my rudder more, and they all aren't wicked pretty but I was having a blast!

Some dusk flying, weather was perfect, mid 70's, a slight breeze (and occasional stiff breeze) Happy with the way the added LED's look, really nice. Think I may add them to most if not all my planes going forward!

I boogered mine up last night building it.... I was installing the landing gear and one of the mounting screws head sheared off (soft screws?) so now I have to figure out a way to dig it out of the mounting hole. I tried grabbing the little bit that is sticking out with pliers but its really stuck in there. Maybe I can heat it up with a soldering iron to melt the plastic a little so it doesn't grip so hard? I dunno.... Luckily it's the top mounting screw which isn't used for any of the float hardware or struts. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Do yourself a favor, buy all new screws. They are awful, I sheared one off putting the gear on (thankfully it was set in all the way) and then on a hard landing the strut from the wing to the top of the gear cut the screw right off. Wicked soft metal.

Going to maiden my Flyzone Beaver tomorrow. I bought this plane 3 months ago from a friend at my club and I have not flown it. Was somewhat concerned I might crash it but I figure you have to do it at some point. No point in buying planes and letting them sit on the shelf.

How does it compare to the ParkZone Sport Cub as far as flying?

I can't speak to comparing it to the Cub, but I'll tell ya, if you have your CG set properly as described in the manual this plane is a real breeze to fly.

I have my flaps set at 25% currently (using a DX6i so I only have one position) Once you ease the power on and are tracking straight It'll jump off the ground at half throttle, but in a nice smooth way. Flaps again for landing with a touch of power and you should be able to grease em every time. Mine required hardly any trim at all, though when you give it some power it will want to climb.

Really my favorite plane so far, a real smooth flier, I'm sure you'll have the same thoughts, let us know how the maiden goes!
