My Little Gall II: The Resurrection

It has the thickness of Aluminum Duct Tape and is tricky to work with when doing compound curves. It probably took 30+ hours to do the complete airplane originally, but there was a learning curve as well. Best to take it panel by panel or no more than two if they're long and straight.
The look is awesome, no gatoring and even in the sun, you can touch it and its cool.

Thanks T 33!! The larger ones were done with a punch and the smaller ones are done with the 'spur' wheel that comes with the Flite Metal, really makes it pop pardon the pun. Just waiting for the battery hatch and I have to get some black pinstripe tape to complete to nose.

got some work done tonight, the new battery hatch arrived …


Still a bit of work yet to be completed, but all cosmetic now. I bought a complete set of new screws just in case and I still have to run the satellite antennae to the under side hatch at the front. This time, I'm also installing the 2 cell battery that is strictly for CG, under the battery hatch floor, inside the speaker hatch. Gives me more room to place the battery on the deck.

Nice job, Dan! I just love a good resurrection!

I saved my Adagio and it probably flies better than the original did new - and 2 weeks later I was gifted the one I saw crash on her 3rd flight with very similar damage to what mine sustained. Not sure if I’ll just keep it for parts or not, but could be easily rebuilt as I have all the pieces.
You may have steered my decision.

I'm starting to believe that any attempt to repair will strengthen you knowledge base, I learn new things every time I try. As you say, it can always be used for spare parts afterwards.
Beautiful day in Wy, so I had to take advantage of the sunshine.....
Of course the cats had to get in on the action !!


Still a ways to go, but the hard work is definitely over. You can see the screen under the nose is still loose, I have to get back in there as well to tweak it, and the wings only have two bolts holding them on, got some new ones with the last shipment. I decided to go a flat black on the anti glare shield as well as silver windshield frames aka the stock P-51's. Callie is in the process of making the 'Old Dog' logo which will probably arrive about the time she' finished, so all works out right. The wings need a little TLC yet and the black is correct on the lower part of the landing gear door, but the white has yet to be added. Once the sanding and painting is completed, they'll be getting a coat of Minwax Pro Spar Urethane Gloss. This time I'm running a 10 channel Lemon diversity receiver so I can utilize the knob on the radio to control the amount of gyro I want. I find this to be really handy in some of the other planes.

Thanks guys, there are a few minor wrinkles that I'll either try to work out of the Flite Metal or learn to live with
