RE: Places you fly. Post your videos.

    WOW, great field Denny!!
I've just heard through the Grapevine that two of our fields will be shutting down, one because someone moved in to the area and complained about the noise (we also have folks who drive the R/C FWD's) and the other one is parked right next to an airfield.
The good news is that it leaves the one here in Cody, so we, hopefully, should see some improvements in the next year or so.

Bellevue, Iowa.  My first flight on the Mississippi River channel. Lock and Dam #12 is located here in Bellevue.
Had to deal with 5-8mph winds, and a 3-4mph water current.

Time and location. Just so happened it was right about sunset, and the wind was down to almost nothing making the lake almost like glass, reflecting the sunset sky and scattered clouds on the lake surface.  And also, one of my granddaughters was along, and she repeatedly said it was "Cool!", that can be heard on the video.

Hope you enjoy the video as much as I have.

Bry, it may be the same place but it's a beautiful grass field. I envy you! Looks like the Corsair is flying well! Like it? Doesn't it float in nicely when landing?

Lauren this the Practice field for our High School football team. It's better than the grass in my yard .

I love this Corsair. I wish I could get better landings without the nose overs but some days it's just the way it is ! I've rearranged the weights in the cowl to bring them back to help but half the time it still goes over . Oh well !!

Busy busy summer, and now I guess its fall time. Between the National Guard and working a ton I haven't had the time to fly, got back on the sticks today for the first time since July 2nd. Took up the FMS Stearman and had a blast, went with a friend of mine and he put his mobius on his E-Flite P51 and chased me around, great weather and a great spot to fly. May be my primary choice, even more so than my club field just due to the spot that it has pavement...

Also flew off of a new field, behind some municipal soccer fields in a nearby town and they are apparently friendly to flyers. Turns out the spot used to be land owned by a developer who was fortunate enough to have had a successful career and had a private airfield on the spot. (he came out today and chatted with us for a while). And what we are flying off is the remnants of the actual runway, pretty cool in my book.

                    The field today:

The field in 2001 (he sold it off in 2002)

So is that 6 points total? 3 for the field goal and 3 more for the 3 point landing? Hehe! Nice flyin' Bry!

And nice landing Bryan, not sure if I would try that unless I was dead on in-front of it, with my luck I'd drill the damn thing.

What a line up! I enjoyed that Ben, thanks! One of the things I found interesting was how many of the warbirds use 2 bladed props. I know most are gassers and nitro, do they not ever use 3 bladed props? Is it too much for the motors I wonder?
