What a line up! I enjoyed that Ben, thanks! One of the things I found interesting was how many of the warbirds use 2 bladed props. I know most are gassers and nitro, do they not ever use 3 bladed props? Is it too much for the motors I wonder?

Good question. They do it for the "performance" and some say the cost. This is what I don't get. You put 4grand or more into one of those planes. And you just cant shell out the 70-120 bucks for a Biella scale prop? A Biella will have marginal performance loss, and what people don't get with a scale three or four blade prop you actually increase thrust. Yeah, you lose speed and top end. Its a pet peeve of mine to. At the end of the day though they are still nice looking planes. The 30cc plane I owned I had a scale Biella prop. I only ground ran it once with that prop. I had every intention of using it after I had my dle broke in. But, alas, I killed my 30cc sky raider lol. Oh, well I got another one I just got to get my self motivated to get it built. Which is another point. It is a good idea to "break in" a new engine with a smaller two blade. Now, as far as the 60 size gas/nitro planes go, there really isn't any good scale props available. Master air screw has three bladed, that kinda sorta fill that void. Four blade though? Let me know if you find any, I haven't. APC has four blade but they have zilch scale look about them.

I put a 2 blade on it and I was actually shocked with the increase in speed, I mean, like a rocket! In all honesty, however, the 2 blade is 1/4" longer and higher pitched. Doc

yeah that extra length and more importantly the pitch would make a difference if your power plant can pull it.

I took the Cessna F949 half way to the moon after work last night. Flew out of the back yard. In a tight set of circles almost hitting several branches on the way up and then back down!

I am not sure which plane? The one on the ground that was blue and white was a rascal 110. There was a yellow cub that was not put together yet on a starter stand. The E Flight giant t-28 on a stand upside down without wings attached yet. A red high wing plane on the ground was a seagull decathlon. The first plane that flew I have no idea lol.

They are probably the best flying out of the 1700mm FMS class. I had the P-47, it was an ok flying plane, but was a problem child and a pain in the ass every time I flew it. I finally got rid of it. I have not flew the Corsair, but from everything I have read its not that spectacular. Don't get me wrong, I like scale flying, but these planes are really underpowered, and all it would require is 100 amp esc and more of a prop pitch. Add 20 bucks to the price. Fair deal. Sorry, I just ranted haha. What did you think of Jeff's 3D flying?

You have probably seen a flight from my yard and other locations. But here's a short flight video of the farmers in the field across the street.  Yes....I live in rural Iowa :)

I also managed 10 flights with the IronAss, and 3 with the Old Crow today. Nice days to fly like today, will be fewer and farther between.
