That's really cool Jim!! How do you like that plane? Looks like it flies really well. I was thinking of getting one. Is that foam? It looks like the surface is very smooth with no foam cells visable. Maybe you painted it really well?

That was a fun to watch. We don't get snow like that here in N. Texas. When we do its gone in a day or so. The powder looks awesome!
What camera did you have mounted? Nice colors!

The Skipper is a perfect plane for those conditions, that looks like so much fun! Fun airplane, too. I had the smaller version. What battery are using for the XL? 2500mAh? 3000mAH?

The Skipper XL has turned out to be a fun plane and has lived up to its "All Terrain Plane" moniker.  I have flown it from grass and snow and it has performed well.  It's fun to just do some high speed taxing with it, doing doughnuts and skidding sideways across the ground.  Now I'm looking forward to flying it and my new Flyzone Seawind (thanks Motion) from water this summer.

The Skipper XL came with a neat 40A ESC with a reverse feature, so you can taxi backwards on water.  But I have read about several incidents of the original ESC going bad, so I upgraded to a ZTW Mantis 45A.

I wrapped mine with Oracal vinyl film for appearances and to protect the foam.  I have wrapped several foam planes and so far, I like the results.

The plane will fly on 3cell, but I fly mine using Admiral 3000 4cell, which really woke it up and makes it a hoot in the air.  It has a very sporty roll rate and does nice round loops from level flight on 4 cell.  It slows down surprisingly well for landing.

It also has some dutch roll which shows up as a mild wobble.  It doesn't affect flight and is mostly noticeable on breezy days.

So does the Icon... All that swirling air from the prop on the tail I think. Anyways great job on the wrap and plane. I really enjoyed that! By the way, we are still digging out in Baltimore... :(

Really cool video and club!! Love the heli!! I tried flying helis.... I just was no good at collective pitch. LOL! So I stuck with multirotors and planes which I seem to have the talent for. ;) Love how your club does it all... So does ours but there is only 10 or so of us. Anyways, just wanted to say it looks like a fun group. :)

Thanks! I actually started out flying full scale helicopters, and it still took me about 3 years to learn collective pitch helis. And I still have no idea how to even comprehend 3D helis.. Our club has really expanded. At our first meeting last year, we had 3 members. Throughout this year and last year, we have gone to almost 100 active members with an incredibly diverse skillsets. Cheap airplanes like the flitetest planes have really made it easy for even college students to get into the hobby.

Hi Shirty, good to see you here and free of the RCG admins! In the editor, there is a small film icon, and when you click on it, you can change the video type to YouTube, then paste in the link.

Cool thanks mate. I'll try and give that a go. I know it can be a pain to have to jump from site to site, so was hoping to make it easy for people to see a bit of my club here in Australia. You've probably seen this vid, it's the f16 one, but it's got some good onboards of the club.

Cheers about the RCG bit, I actually had a good discussion with them today and caught them out lying about how the whole saga was handled, and was able to prove it without a shadow of a doubt. (Publically in a thread, so everyone saw it). Feel like I accomplished something today lol. They've even had to admit that the rule I got punished for, they made a year ago, but in all that time they never updated the site to let us end users know. The whole thing was prerty crazy really. I'm glad it's over. I like the hobby squawk forums so far, think I'll be here mainly in future. But, I don't want to bring that rubbish over here.  Just get on with the business of swapping our RC stories, tips, vids etc. that's the fun bit. :)

I really enjoy the f16 and my other edfs for a little something different. (I mainly fly 3D, but I love my warbirds) The f16 has been solid as btw, I'm extremely happy with it. Tracks pretty well for this sort of design, mines never missed a beat, and Ive not had a single parts failure, even with my hot landings. The gear has been very impressive. I've had the odd hard touch down, (OK, maybe more than one lol), and the f16 has soaked it up with ease. Overall, Id like a little more power, but the stock configuration with the outrunner is sufficient for the airframe, and there's always the inrunner as an option for a bit more get up and go. I'd highly recommend the Freewing jets, though I'd suggest they are not for the inexperienced. :)

I started using my Mobius hat cam. Unfortunately the video I captured I filmed in 4:3 and not 16:9 ratio, so it's not full screen. Next time, it will be in 16:9.

I love the Freewing F-86 80mm jet. It's a great size, very predictable, and looks and sounds incredible. This is one of those "Go-To" jets in my opinion. I can't imagine not owning one now. If you don't own one, I recommend you get one.

Nice vid tcat, and really nice work on the sticks. Beautiful landing, and looks like a great spot to fly too. A mate over here has the sabre, but he's a bit too scared to fly it. After seeing your vid, I think I'll show it to him and give him another nudge in the right direction. Looks like it handles really nice. :)

Looking good T-Cat! I second what you have said on the F-86. It has been my #1 go-to airplane and is just plain enjoyable to fly. Every time I go to the field now, the Sabre always comes with. In fact, its even pretty good in a dead stick. Ask me how I know.. :)

You are so smooth flying.... Nicely done!!! The F-86 is my favorite jet ever. Most little girls draw hearts, puppies, kitties... I used to draw F-86's... LOL Yeah I know, kinda weird. :) Anyways, the only thing holding me back is a good place to fly it from. Someday.... Anyways, thanks for posting that T-Cat.
