Great flight! Boy is that water ever clear or what?? Amazing! What did you use for a camera in that? A Mobius? If so, how did you water proof it?

Nice video and great flying! I love flying with the floats on the DHC2 Beaver.

Thanks -- my camera was a Keychain 808 #16. And it wasn't water proofed. It worked fine with the bigger Beaver. But I mistakenly put that 808 on a micro with floats and the cam got wet. It was too much weight and flipped over... Dang... :(

Good timing. I just lost my Beaver on Sunday. Was on the shoreline standing on rocks. Flying perfectly. Lost my footing and fell into the rocks... Broke my wrist. Badly. Was all crooked!! I looked on the water for the plane and it had somehow landed on it's own... I tried to gas the plane to get it back to the shore. But no response. In the fall, the TX banged on the rocks... I had to climb out of the rocks and head to the emergency room. Leaving my beloved Beaver on the water... I am royally depressed...

Really sorry to hear about you breaking your wrist, transmitter, and losing you plane. That just ain't right. Maybe someone will find the Beaver and bring it back to you. Hope your recovery is coming along well.

         Sorry about your mishap hopefully someone knows who you are or the fact that you have your name and address on it.  One thing positive is that it happened at the end of the season not the start, good luck and may your beaver find it's way home.

Thank you to everyone for all of the kind wishes... My wife, with her ever watchful care, has kept an eye on me. Knowing that i have been obsessed with trying to get my plane back... She drove me to the cove where i lost the plane, the day after the accident. Insisted that i stay in the car... She searched the shoreline and the water pretty carefully. Nothing. Yesterday, while she was out of the house, i took a detour and headed to the area, for my own recon... nothing washed up on the shore. someone must have picked it up. hopefully... i placed an ad for lost and found on the local internet forum and the local paper. fingers crossed...

Oh, also-- my Tx seems fine. Now it is really bugging me... i could have powered the tx off then back on, and may have been able to regain control on the water and taxied it back ... if i haden't been so freaked out by my zig zag arm bone... i could have it now...

Hey Thosmosis I sure hope you get your plane back. That truly sucks.

Meanwhile here in NW Iowa, we just got 15 inches of snow. Its real light and fluffy. I put the skis on the beaver but the snow wasn't dense enough to hold the plane up so I tried the floats, and success! Its like a little snowmobile buzzing around through the light snow! Only bad thing is my thumbs could only handle two batteries worth of flying

And to think last week it was 60 degrees here

Hey Iowa 54 , first welcome to the forum ! 

I've been reading thru some of your post and noticed you've mentioned flaps a few times . I own 5 different Dynams and not a one of them need flaps . They fly so light that they are more of a problem then a help . My Dusty came with them but I never use them . If your looking for the more scale look then I can see you may want them but otherwise I wouldn't bother with them . 

The Beaver by Flyzone is a better built plane but it does have a higher $ on it . Your lights are wired to work and the rudder is set up better .

Hello!  I'm from eastern iowa too. I like and use flaps on all my planes to include the Fly zone Beaver. I fly the beaver a lot.  But the thought of "wish I had more power" hasn't crossed my mind. Where as with my Mustangs, I have upgraded them for the higher voltage.
Where you at in Eastern Iowa? I live in Miles.

Thanks for the welcome(s) I live in CR but, fly down in Iowa City with the Iowa City Aerohawks. Just soloed last sept so still a newbie. I bought a used Pandora for my trainer and its a a really nice flying plane. I bought a Waco and a Dusty here recently and have only taken the Waco up 1 time. Been to windy for me. Dusty is still a virgin. Been a lurker on here and other sites for awhile so now I'll be joining in. Heading out in a bit to try the Pandora out with skis if the snow hasn't melted off. Lon , What are you going to buy with your $50?

Wow!!!!!!! That's awful!!!!! I think that might be the worst day I've ever heard someone have. How long to heal?
