I recently assembled my e-Flite P-39, set it up on my DX-9. Everything appears to work as it should and I will maiden when the wind subsides. However, I notice that while most of the wing lines up perfectly with the wing root fairings on the fuselage, the rear 3" begins to gradually slope below the wing root fairings on the fuselage so that the wings trailing edge on each side is 3/16" below the wing root fairing. The wing is screwed into the fuselage as tight as it will go and I checked for any obstruction. I also checked a number of photos and vids online and many appeared similar. Is this normal or should it be of concern?

Hi ICM, I have the same problem with mine and completing the same exercise as you did. I also found that the receiver (AR636A) takes much longer to communicate with the DX9 than all my other E-Flite models. Does this happen to you? The only other item was that, on unboxing, the left flap was glued together & needed separating. I still have buzzing on the flap servos both up & down with plenty of clearance & adjustments to ease off the main travel. Yet to fly the aircraft.

They didn't forget anything they just took the money and ran like hellOriginally posted by OV10 View Post
No.........Roc was a 980mm .
I personally would much prefer a FL version in a 1400 so that it scales with the 1600 Spitty and Corsair and the rest of forgotten line dropped by FMS (Hellcat, etc) that Alpha is gonna be pumpin out left and right.;)
I think Eflite looks at it like this
We saturate the market with advertising we buy all the you tube gurus off we target new fliers
Who buy our planes they promptly wreck them they quit the hobby rinse and repeat
Or the great pilots and seasoned fliers well we just put them on hold on CS
Till they give up and jury rig a fix
Rinse and repeat
I know if I buy this plane it will have an inferior esc bad servos and glass props along with the famous
"Backorder on parts "
So I choose to ignore them

I love mine. She is a docile puppy to fly. So far about 20 flights on 3S 2200. It took a bit to fine tune the flaps and elevator mix but I think I was just flying too fast with flaps. I tend to fly too fast on maidens fearing a stall or worse a tip stall on final.
Lands beautifully on full or half flaps now. I use the flaps as our geotex has some lumpy spots that aren’t great on the gear. Before I got her tuned i
I did manage to get a bit of chatter on the front retract. I was landing flat in no flaps before getting what I wanted in set up.
I should pull the front retract and get the wobble out of the threaded rod. I had to do my Arrows T28 front retract after landing rollout into a hump under our geotex that put the T28 back in the air and no speed to get elevator action leaving me to one point land on the nose gear.

Picked one of these up a few months back and working on a few quick improvements. Designed some parts for the interior, and used some of Arma Hobby’s 1/48 scale files to scale up a bit. Also designed a new instrument panel and printed a more accurate pilot figure. I also cut off the short 37mm barrel and did something a bit more representative of the 20mm cannon on the P-400.
I will also eventually be adding nose gear doors if I can get them to work. I also designed a new spinner backplate to accommodate the 13” LX B-25 propeller, which is notably more scale is size and shape. Plan is to refinish it as Hell’s Bell, a P-400 based on Guadalcanal. FMS attempted this scheme a while back on their 980mm version, but I’m intending to do it in a more realistic manner.11 Photos

Great job!! I like all the details you added to this airplane.Originally posted by F106DeltaDart View PostTest fit of the 3D printed nose gears. Need a few tweaks and the small forward door, but it’s getting close.
Hey, do you know of anyone like cults or Thingiverse that offers STLs of equipment for planes like an ADF loop antenna (football shaped) and other stuff that could work for these scale projects?
Thanks,

Thanks Dave! I used this one on my static conversion of the HK B-17 to an F model: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game...QFdbaTyDT3kqWoOriginally posted by davegee View Post

Many more mods now completed. Getting ever close to paint.
- Extended the nose gear out to scale. Created a new nose strut based around the Freewing Panther main strut wing and machined a nose gear fork to fit it.
- Added 2 5g servos for the nose doors. All efforts to trigger then mechanically triggered the shutoff current for the retract.
- Designed and installed inner gear doors (mechanically triggered by main retracts)
- Designed new more scale looking split flaps
- Designed new spinner with a more correct outline.10 Photos

Wow! Love all the improvements you've made on this P-39!! Look forward to seeing when it is complete and when it eventually flies!Originally posted by F106DeltaDart View PostMany more mods now completed. Getting ever close to paint.

Looking Great, F106DD!Originally posted by F106DeltaDart View PostSpent all day on the shark mouth and touch ups. It’s mostly finished. Still needs some radio setup, and a few more markings from Callie before its ready to go.
Will work on getting all the 3D files together for a cults 3D listing soon.
Cheers

Thanks Dave! Lots of work masking off that shark mouth. Detail parts have been listed for sale on cults if anyone is interested: https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/vari...p-39-airacobra.

I heard you have a techinique or process that uses baby powder to paint on decals from masks that don't pull up the original paint from the styro? Can you add anything on doing this process? I am working on a bubble top mod to the 1.5M FMS P-47 and would love to paint on the decals rather than use stickers if that is possible to do without pulling all the original paint off of the airplane surface.Originally posted by F106DeltaDart View PostThanks Dave!
