They should look ok with the strut covers on.

I just ordered the E-flite F4U-4 Corsair retracts, the set that quit working had only been bench operated twice...I just don't understand why Dynam does address this, the airframe itself is great.

      • Let us know if the eflite f4u retracts fit without mods or it would be the same as putting on the universal eflite rotating retracts. And yes all dynam retracts are bad. I agree they have some really great planes for the money but it is a shame they don't put a better retract in and charge a few dollars more.

            • I guess I have never had a issue with the retract itself but the strut is soft like butter lol. But maybe if you put a stronger strut in then the retract would break. Please do keep us advised. Its a fun plane and light as a feather.

              • Hey Dewey do you know Gary McConnel? If so I just watched a video on YouTube he posted that showed you landing your hellcat and P47 gasser.

                  • It would have been a real coincidence but I thought a guy named Dewey flying a dynam hellcat could have been you.

                    • Do you by any chance remember on YouTube where it's at. I would like to view that. I didn't know there was anyone else around with my name. Buy the way I pulled the retracts out of the hellcat and started modifications to the gear plates to put in the eflite gear but work has kept me from getting any further.

                        • I haven't messed with my hellcat in a while I decided to fly some of my other planes that don't need work. The wind has been up everyday so if I get lucky enough to go fly i just want to fly and not have to work on them. Lucky if I get an hour every couple of weeks.

                          • Us work keeps me busy. But I'm trying to slow down some now. Just telling the boss I need the time for myself. Finally getting some planes together. Snipers Snoot is together and just waiting on that FMS container to get hear before I put together the Ferouis Frankie. Always like to have some spare parts before I put a plane up even if I don't need them. But it would be nice to have some extra props for it. Weather been crazy. Afternoon monsoons so that kicks out flying after work and a heat index of over a 100 every day.

                              • Yes, the struts are shorter so I had to relocate the retracts but they work great.

                                      • I've got about a dozen flights on the new Eflight retracts and they have performed flawlessly, these are very high quality and have zero play in them...they even have a quality sound to them. You saw that I had to relocate the retract position, I was concerned it would change COG but it didn't seem to change enough to make a difference.

I measured the Dynam Corsair and these should be a direct bolt in on it.

                                        • I would have been suprised if the Eflite retracts weren't good quality. The Eflite retracts are going to be the way I go on all my Dynams when they have to be replaced. They will cost a little more but are the most rugged and dependable that I have used.
