Sunday 10-25-2020 .....Assembled the Cessna 02 at the field for it's 7th flight of 2020 before the Texas wet winter cold drizzle set up just an hour later. Toggled my Hobby Eagle A3L to stabilizer Armed position. The aircraft took off with a little bit of wing rock...not too violent. I did notice some waggle and wing rocking in flight that was not present the last time I flew it with stabilizer. Landing at six minutes just doing normal pattern runway passes...I noticed that my DX8 Stabilizer Gain Knob was set to zero....so that explains the not so smooth flight. The stabilizer was on ZERO GAIN. At least the take off was not so violent as I used all of our runway to take off with a very long and shallow rotation......I think this is the best strategy for my bird. Next time I will not be so apprehensive and....will have the stabilizer engaged with the proper gain for conditions.
At least another successful flight and landing is in the log book

IMG_3324.JPGIMG_3332.JPGIMG_3329.JPGIMG_3330.JPG The oddball nose gear steering servo placement is the only real detractive on this aircraft as the servo is mid-center fuselage under the cockpit floor. This requires a long control rod forward into the motor mount for the nose wheel which is prone to bending and prevents full movement due to the odd angle when full right input is required. Additionally the long nose wheel steering control rod is in competition for space of the tandem flight batteries. I am able to place the batteries in the forward bay but they must be placed as far rearward as possible to achieve the appropriate COG. The batteries are angled together towards aft and can't go back any further as they hit my ESC's mounted on flat on each side of the electronics bay tray. This is not optimal but it all works for access and COG.
