I've got some shading to do on it and I'm studying up on just how to do it. These guys were covered in dirt , grime and oil after a mission that's the look I'm after.

Corona build. Been awhile since I updated this. Built a windscreen , started joining wings and finishing up the ribs for the center section. I'm running out of parts.

How's your progress? I just started building this kit and wondered if you trimmed the back of the stab supports? Laid on the plans they look too long, but trimming that much from a laser cut piece is weird, and there's no mention of trimming it in the assembly manual.

Is it a Balsa USA plane? I just recently completed my Balsa USA Fokker DVIII. I had a couple of discrepancies where the plans didn't match up exactly with a part, so I went with the dimensions of the part. In the manual under "About the Plans" paragraph it states to go by the parts since the plans can still expand and contract with temperatures and humidity. Hope this helps you out. Look at MikeT post number 10 on the first page it shows the part you have a question about.

About finished. Covering done. I'll post pictures in a couple of days . Plans shrink so I build to parts but sometimes adjustments need to be made. If I remember correctly I did trim the stab supports. Check the horizontal fit than adjust for there.

I made brackets and new struts because I just didn't care for the music wire ones.

Flying wires done. Need a few more odds and ends , mount the motor than go though it again. Ready for the maiden flights in a few weeks.
