I'm curious, would a slighter taller tail wheel help as well or will that present other issues?

That is another way to reduce the P-factor effect until the tail come up. We will try with shortening the gear height by about 1” and test it out on Saturday. I am not sure if flying off grass would help either. I will re/bend the gear to reduce the height without cutting the gear legs.

I've been researching taildragger ground handling issues and there's a debate whether to use toe-in or toe-out on front wheels to improve ground handling. Ive always set my planes up straight ahead. There doesn't seem to be agreement. In fact, in the end, it sounds like different planes like different toe-in or toe-out. Given your experience, I might try some mild toe-out and see how it handles some groundhandling experiments before flight. After installation, my L19 landing gear has considerable toe-in out of the box.
Just thinking out loud. Looking forward to hearing others experiences with first flights, particularly ground handling.

The distance on my instructions was from the firewall to the backside of the prop.Originally posted by asesso View PostWhen mounting the motor should the distance from the firewall called for in the manual be the same at all four corners of the motor mount
That said, since an angle down and to the right is built into the firewall, the four corners of the motor mount should be equidistant from the firewall to maintain that built in angle.
