The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a World War II-era fighter-bomber aircraft produced by the United States. Renowned as a hardy and versatile machine, the P-47 could carry up to 2,500 pounds of external ordnance in addition to its eight .50 caliber machine guns. Propelled by the stalwart R-2800 Double Wasp engine that also powered the F4U Corsair, F7F Tigercat, and many other aircraft, the P-47 was one of the fastest and heaviest single engine fighters of the war, seeing service in all theaters of the war as a bomber escort, reliable ground attack platform, and lethal dogfighter. The P-47 Thunderbolt "Touch of Texas" was piloted in World War II by Captain Charles Mohrle of the 510th Fighter Squadron, 405th Fighter Group, circa 1944.

We are proud to announce Nexa, Motion RC's in-house Balsa-specific brand that will showcase customer-favorites and new, never-before-seen models in various balsa formats and a wide range of sizes and price points.

The Nexa P-47 is a .46–.55 size electric or gas option scale series warbird with a 1500mm wingspan, constructed primarily from balsa wood and covered with a fuel-resistant covering. This ARF requires assembly and installation of your choice of servos and power system, and includes flaps, painted pilot, machine gun, antenna and other scale details. The ProFly Bronco, which will now come under the Nexa brand, was just the beginning. Much more to come, beyond what some of us may recognize. As I tell myself every day, "We're just getting started".

Alpha I have their P47 Hairless Joe and i like it but it definitely needs some improvements on the wings. The main problem is the wheel wells. They have a wing rib running right where the wheel sits and because of it the wheels with gear doors on will not come close to sitting flush. Also the wheels are too small and grass operations are hard. The way the wells are made you cant enlarge to a larger wheel because the wells are too close to the leading edge of the wing. Also the wing has next to no dihedral and looks kinda odd. The top of the wing is flat across and the bottom has a little dihedral in it. In my honest opinion the entire wing needs to be reworked especially for long term grass flyers.

What is the optimum approximate weight of the brushless motor, ESC, and battery? I have a P-51 Berlin Express run as 6S. She was heavy and loved to tip-stall, possibly due to wing loading? But was she F A S T!

PS. Love the 4-blade on the P-47! My P-51 had a Master Airscrew 13x8 3-blade. I live at 6500' so the air is a bit thinner...

Really excited to get this one in the hanger hopefully we will unbox it live next week or the week after depending on shipping time. Papa did a fantastic build thread here on hobby squawk. But I wanted to add our final pictures here on the official thread. The airplane goes together super easy with just a little time and effort. We did deviate from the official recommendation of parts on this build. We ended up going with the FMS 1700 mm Corsair power system and prop to get a vary scale look and unlimited power. Also instead of using the expensive servos we used our trusty Freewing digital metal gear servos I fly 100mph jets on them with no problems I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t save over half the cost by using them here. Guys the model is absolutely gorgeous and one of the easiest ARFs to assemble just take your time and she will fly fine 😉

Am looking forward to the ground handling characteristics report because of the pics on the main gear that shows no positive caster for the struts.

Guys, I call this an assembly and not a built. Being an older fellow and started RC in the early 80's before ARFs, and building from a box of balsa. But first, I want to give Motion credit for providing a model that being of balsa, is almost as simple as a foamy. This model comes with almost everything that is needed for
