Yes, the grease has been changed. But make sure after a few runs you change it out for fresh grease.

Just check that it is an air-cooled ESC and not a water cooled one.

I believe most if not all of the Bancroft boat and ship models are made by KY Models and sold around the world under various brand names.
I would check that the prop shafts turn freely and add some good marine grease and run it for a while to see if anything gets warm, vibrates or sounds odd.

I don't think Motion sold a large number of these so there might not be a lot of info on them available.
I was lucky to get an open box one from them at a pretty good discount.
I replaced the ESC with a Hobbywing 1080 and pulled out the prop shafts and greased them with the blue marine grease I bought from Tower Hobbies.
    Everything works great.
If you decide to remove the prop shafts to the rear be sure to do it one at a time because you have to drop the rudders out and the steering linkage can be hard to reassemble if you take them all out at once.

Hi everyone, just got my PT596 today ! Very happy with it so far. Does anyone know if the prop grease problem has been resolved at the factory. Are they shipping them with the proper petroleum jelly on the prop shafts instead of the wrong red type ? Thank you

    Here are chargers, https://www.motionrc.com/collections/battery-chargers

You will need to decide on how many cells you are going to run. 3s is enough for this boat. Get a Lipo battery and then match that up with an marine ESC.
Thank you. Got everything I need so far. Items are in the mail.

Hi everyone, I just ordered a PT 596 Kymodel from ihobbymall. It does not come with the remote controller, ESC, battery, and battery charger. Does anyone know where I can track these items down in North America to save on shipping charges. Thank you. Rob

If anyone is interested we have an open box PT596 for sale at this link:

Needs an ESC and some cosmetic TLC but if you plane to weather it then no big deal there. I would also change out the prop shaft grease. With no ETA on new ones coming in yet you can have it for this boating season.

Hey does anyone have a good color match for the green hull color on this boat?

A brand name like Tamiya etc...

I have some touch up to do.
