I've been waiting for since fall of 2020...even bought an entire airwing of 1/200 aircraft which costed more than twice the carrier itself. I understand world events have disrupted a lot of things. Just looking for real intel on when and if this carrier is coming in stock...or should I start selling off my airwing?

Where can you find the 1/200 aircraft for this carrier that hopefully is available at some point?

Finally got my Nimitz and I am preparing to mod with rotating radars and additional 3d printed aircraft, etc. REALLY nice looking ship. I did wish it had brass props instead of plastic. I will likely have to upgrade those. You can see here the 3d printed ones I am making compared to the provided aircraft. The included ones are quite nice. The ship was VERY well packed and FedEx Ground beat the crap out of the package. I would spring for the extra cost of shipping by another carrier next time. My Titanic arrived in similar shape.

I wanted to raise the mast mount of my Motion RC Bancroft Nimitz aircraft carrier to allow for the rotation of the radar. I chose to do this by making a small shack level on which to mount the mast, rather than a mast extension.
It is not historically accurate, but serves the purpose. I have a hole for the original mounting screw into the mast from inside the new base shack. I used a few washers under the screw to spread the load out, then glued the new base shack to the existing roof deck of the carrier island. There is also a hold for a small rod running through the shack to allow for the rotation of a radar on the mast itself.
Both rotating radars are connected to separate N20 small geared motors. These are available in a variety of voltages and speeds from Amazon and Ebay for a few dollars each. I am using a 30 RPM and a 50 RPM motor.
I made this in Tinkercad and printed it on an Anycubic Mono X resin printer with standard resin. It is hollow and open on the bottom. I printed with auto supports with the piece at a slight tilt.
I moved around some of the radars that came with the model and added some others I was able to find and print. By drilling a small hole in the base of the radar, I glued it to thin steel wire which runs to the small geared motor, which is connected to the motor with a piece of fuel tubing.

I had the paint scanned at HomeDepot and have included a photo of the label, so that others can get the paint matched. It is close, but not exact. And that is fine for a Navy ship. There are likely subtle variations in the paint on the real ship as well due to age, repairs, etc.

When I was in the Navy in the 80s the ship would rust in about 5 days at sea. We painted constantly while in port. Believe me nothing really matched.
