Hi

I have started to build my Chris Craft today.
Begiining with the frames......
but honestly: for this price. i have never seen such a bad "laser cut" wooden parts as this here. Nothing is complete, you always have to cut on the backsinde with a knife and lots of sandpaper work to get them smooth.
And the quality of the wood for the frames is very low
I hope it will get better later with the mahagoni......

Anyone interested in a build log? Then I will post my steps.......

The manual comes in 2 "books"

and a full size plan


1st Problem ....it is all in inch, not in cm
So you have to drill a hole in 1/4" (I will drill in 6mm instead)

all the frames and the keel (2 parts)


and the deck frame


All these parts need a lot of sanding. The quality of these cuts are very low.

T6, Thank you. I have begun the same kit, though some 15+ years ago. I am at the stage of applying the mahogany strips and could not decide which gluing method to use. I did not give up on the project, just set it aside in my last relocation. Your build might inspire me to "begin again". It is a beautiful design and there are a few minor challenges so far. Question: Which glue I can use? In the manual they said:
No expoxy....
Gap filling (medium) CA glue. The bottom plank are made of PVC
Any suggestions?

T6, If you're using CA+ (gap filler), rough up the PVC planks a bit for better adhesion. I used CA+ and accelerator to plank mine, making certain I wiped away as much CA+ as I could before applying the accelerator. Note that my kit has plywood planks not PVC and I epoxy-coated the interior of the boat after this step. Best, LB

T6, My guess is you can find CA adhesives in Singapore at any hobby center or even a hardware store. Best, LB
