The Iconic Tamiya Frog Returns!

Originally introduced in 1983, the 2WD Tamiya Frog buggy created a huge splash with its unusual design and high performance. This model, along with others from various manufactures, are credited with starting the RC off-road craze in America. The Frog now makes a comeback, modernized where applicable, but with its basic architecture essentially intact. Maintaining use of its characteristic space frame, the shock absorbers for the trailing-arm rear suspension have been updated to a diaphragm-type, while rear dogbone-style driveshafts deliver reliable power transmission. The sleek polycarbonate body remains the same, while original 3-piece wheels feature front grooved and rear spike tires for excellent off-road performance. This specific kit version also includes a Hobbywing 1060 Brushed ESC for convenience and ease of operation.

The Frog features an ABS space frame with nylon suspension components and bumper for a lightweight yet rugged chassis that is perfect for off road running. The battery compartment is located in an ultra-low position, giving the Frog the stability and balance needed to handle the roughest terrain and tallest jumps. Advanced 4-wheel independent suspension features a double wishbone-type front assembly featuring inboard springs and durable steel radius arms. Rear trailing arms contain horizontally mounted aluminum oil-filled dampers, while a sealed gearbox with differential ensures optimal cornering. Full gearbox ball bearings and three available gear ratio offers maximum efficiency regardless of terrain!

So Very Cool...a blast from my past, that's for sure. I worked PT at a Hobby Shop for 8+ years in the '80's. We sold the entire Tamiya catalog, but when RC hit big, this was our # ONE seller. I raced the Tamiya onroad cars but still built many of these for display, sale, and customers. What a hoot, Aros. Great to see it hasn't changed much. Best, LB
