YES! Little by little Jarrod! This is just a 24x48 inch piece of plywood. This side I want to look nice for pics, but the other side will be just all brick blown to hell

OK, I'm in! Now I'm going to have to find some more room in my van and trailer so I can bring my tanks.
Hmmm... If I don't bring the better half, I could pack the tanks in her empty seat.:smiling_imp:

We have a ton of cardboard at work from computer boxes. A couple of buildings painted up and war torn would work great

If you are having fun now building those wait until you see them on the field and with a multi tank battle raging around them. You just might get hooked and can’t stop build more.....

I might as well let the cat out of the bag. A week ago we were at a childrens consignment event shopping for my 19 month old, and I found a little something for dad. It looked to be the perfect start for a war-torn building for our battle, so I took it home and started to work on it.

I cut the windows out, cut a hole in the floor, removed the wall between the downstairs rooms, and began the fine art of "weathering" the finishes. Still have some more cutting and weathering to do, and some props to make and install on the interior, but I am very happy with where this is heading.

Man, I miss those days back in the day when I lived in JAX & would battle with friends. There were more than dozen active players at the time including Bob (Sevoblast) of ETO Armor fame who lived just a couple miles from me at the time before Russian fever got the best of him & he moved to the Crimea. FCAD was the local club, I believe, at the time & one guy's entire backyard was transformed into a battlefield - yes, he wasn't married - & we had another battlefield at the local hobby shop. Here where most RC tanks are made, one can't find anyone interested in IR battle - all they care to do is drive around a course & parade in mass formation - weird.

Hey guys I have the new prototype aftermarket IR receivers in hand and have started testing. So far HUGE improvement..... did I say HUGE....yes HUGE over the stock receiver even with a sunshade on the stock IR receiver.

I still have a few more sessions and performance parameters that I need to double check and lock down but so far all is promising.

Here are a few photo of the prototype. Also there is a short video of the new receiver being tested on my Instagram @fsttanks

That is good to hear. My boys and I were testing our stock systems today in the basement and discovered that one sensor out of three tanks was not registering hits much further than about 3' apart. Does everyone before a battle typically go through some kind of check to make sure their tank registers hits? Is there a baseline distance they are checked at if so?

Usually we check to make sure the play is fair.

A minimum distance I would recommend is 25-30ft in direct sunlight. Optimum distance is ~75ft. Super fun distance is +100ft. That’s when it really feels like a tank battle IMO.
