I am now concluding the panzer side skirts project. I have bought 4 sets: panzer III, Stug III, Panzer IV, and panzer V. I have installed all kits on to my panzers. I was able to make 3 additional side skirts for my other three panzer from my polystyrene parts. I feel satisfied with them added to my tank collections. It's time to move to the next project. Thank you for your posts and viewings. This last one on the jagdpanther is the one I like the most.

I got myself another one. It is the high end version; double the price from the simple version :-(. The online retailer stated that it was for the Jagdpanther. I trimmed the old one off from the tank and installed the new one. It is on my IR battle tank. I will bring it to LA this weekend if the event is still set for this Saturday.Originally posted by sclui56 View PostGood luck David, BTW, I have seen those cylindrical rear convoy lights on Tiger 2's, though there's a never-ending debate on the color.

https://www.forgebeartanks.com.
I placed the order last Monday and received it at my door last night (one week). There are two shipping options. I picked the cheaper one. I think I made the same mistake twice when ordering from Europe. I think if we pay directly with our credit card, there is no $ exchange fee. I paid with Paypal and Paypal charged me the fee :-(SoCal RC Tank Club Facebook Group

This whole post is extremely helpful and full of good information thank you for sharing. Simple question, what thickness are the styrene sheets used for the skirts? For the life of me I can't believe that they are charging $80. for these on Amazon. I'm ready to start working on this project for my Panther G. I'm sorry if I missed it I saw measurements but what were the lengths and heights for the panels for the Jagdpanther/Panther?Originally posted by DavidN View Post
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for replying David. I couldn’t get exactly the polystyrene sheets that you have but I did pick up some cheap options from Walmart yesterday. I’ll show you guys down the road as my project progresses. I’m going to try the skirts in plastic and metal to see which I like best. I’ll be sure to share on both. I saw your measurements on the individual sheets for the tank and converted them to standard since none of my home measuring tools are metric. FYI they are 10 pieces of 1.535 inches X3.07 inches. I rounded off to 1.5 inches X 3 inches. I measured and made stencils on paper first, then on thicker Manila folder, then traced them and cut the plastic. Now I’m looking at the best way to mount everything. I’m looking at leftover spruce. I’ll share more when I get to the painting part. Hopefully I can be as helpful as you are. Thanks again.

If you would be so kind to share what kind of glue you used for the hanger brackets? I'm assuming they are made of polystyrene. I'm working on this project now and have tried Tamiya Extra thin cement but found it doesn't have the best strength for this application and our use. I've also tried CA glue and had much more satisfactory results and likely the product I will use. I also have 2 part epoxy but I don't think I want to go down that road.Originally posted by DavidN View Post
They have10 pieces of plastics measured 39mm X 78mm. 6 pieces have the 'C shape' cut at the upper right ends and the backward "C" at the upper left ends. 4 pieces have only "C shape" cut at 1 end and a little rectangular hole in the middle. Sorry I didn't take picture of those skirts. They have 12 of the little hooks (see pic) that needed to be glued to the side of the tank so that the skirts would be hung onto. The skirts are to be overlapped as 1st over 2nd, 2nd over 3rd and so on (see pic from left to right). Then they have the little rectangular plastic washers to secure the skirts from the outside. From the picture, that is how they look. For your information, RCtank.de did not provide instruction for this kit. He just sent me 3 finished pictures.
Thanks again,
Chef
