  • Tamiya 1/16 Centurion build and field test.

This thread will be a summarized build, but a full field test review of the new Tamiya 1/16 Centurion.

I am not 100% set on a theme yet but leaning towards a late 1960s IDF Centurion or Vietnam era Australian Centurion.

If you have questions please feel free to ask.

So reading sidewise, the transmitter specifies 4 channels, but I count 12 buttons on the front. Will they negate the stick ninja routines?
Twenty six tanks, and not done yet!

They should. I set my Tamiyas up like HL radios. I am most likely not going to use the supplied radio and go straight to my DX8.

I will have a running lower hull sometime tomorrow afternoon. It should be finished and painted by this weekend maybe sooner.

You know that I will have the same tank sent to me by March or April. If there are any issues you think I might come across or might have difficulty with, please take a few pictures and post them up for all of us (me especially ).

Rubicon99 Suspension looks very robust, have you sorted out on the wheel bearings front?

The front idler wheels uses the same bearings as the road wheels of which I have plenty.

I’d bet that Tamiya decides to cash in on Centurion popularity by releasing an IDF tooling. I’d personally prefer that to my Korean War MkIII.

Tamiya will not but there are a few aftermarket shops that will.

There is only one paint scheme Tamiya shows. The Korean War theme shown on the box. It is the least used paint scheme in the Centurions very long service life. But I will take photos of the sheets for you an post it soon.
