Right! When I was a kid, we played "army" and they had some tanks that were remote control, with a cable attached from the tank to the control box, but it was still great. It had a couple of levers on the top of the turret where you could fire some "harmless" plastic shells at your buddies or some target. I can still see that tank in my mind, now! But these tanks today, man, they are absolutely incredible, all of them! I think that Heng Long Sherman is a great starting point for me. I think it is currently out of stock, but once it comes back, I think I'll get one to play with. How fun!

Well, I guess I am the proud owner of a new HL 1/16 scale Sherman tank! Got it for $120, NIB, all accessories and the transmitter included. Should be arriving at my door by April 27. These are the same folks from NJ, so I got the correct seller, I think. Looking forward to running this all over my basement! Our two bulldogs are probably going to beat a hasty retreat when they see it!

The T-34 tracks are especially good at not picking up a lot of plant material. They are low profile with smooth edges. The drive sprocket also is smooth on the outside and avoids gathering plant material too.

I was looking at the Walker Bulldog tank online yesterday. I told my wife how you and your wife battle with your tanks. Just bringing up the idea to her brain for future consideration, showing her a few of the tanks online... Hmmm....😁😁😁

I would agree the T34/85 with or without metal upgrades is a great tank. Never thrown a track on my T34.

The M41 Bulldog is also a great tank. I was told by a senior member that it is not the right scale though. So if you just want to have another fun and good American tank, you can get it. If you are into accuracy, then it is not the one to get.

I personally like the KV-1 a little more than the T34/84. The tracks from the KV-1 grab the ground better than the tracks from the T34/85.

Thanks, DavidN. I would like to keep them in the same scale, if possible. Do you know how far out of 1/16 scale it is? I prefer to stay with American or Brit tanks. The M1A2 Abrams looks cool, even though they are of totally different eras and capabilities. But I like what they demonstrated in Desert Storm.

Still, the Walker Bulldog tank is a real classic, might still get that one. Just a thought.

My Sherman is supposed to be on the delivery truck today, via FedEx. So, that is just three days from LA area to remote Cody WY. I think that is pretty good service!

The Bulldog is my least troublesome tank. For some reason it is also significantly faster than a all my others too. But it’s not the same era as the Abrams. Leo is okay but, to me the Challenger is too cool.

I have most my tanks FPV and the challenger has head tracking which adds another dimension.

I too recommend the Walker Bulldog. I'd never thought much of it before doing 1/16 tanks, but it is the most surefooted of my stable of 15. (Don't tell my wife!) In another thread I started a test trail and ran some videos, one of which shows four tanks, two wide-tracked and two narrow. All have metal tracks.

As far as scale, that got me curious. Off to Wikipedia! Both models are about 38cm long. The real Pershing was 6.33m long, which yields a 1/16.6 scale. The Bulldog, at 5.81m long is at 1/15.3 scale. We're looking at a 52cm difference. For rivet counters, that could be important. At five feet away, driving in the dirt, it's not in my opinion.

It’s hard to do the math unless there’s an accurate tube or chassis length since they may have had different length guns.

If I remember correctly it was the width of the Bulldog not the length that is out of scale.
