It was the most fun event that we had just for our club members. We did not apply the loaner tank program this time. So there was no guest. I did not have to bring my rule sheets, sign in sheet, and loaner tanks, It was more like a RC tank battle picnic. Mike (4th from the right) brought his grill and made hot dogs for all of us at lunchtime. We played all sorts of games: destroy all enemy's tanks, capture enemy's head quarter, north/south direction, east/west direction, and 2 lives per tanks battles. In the future, we will try to set up our battlefield for a 3 nation war and another field for the tank race :-)SoCal RC Tank Club Facebook Group

I've installed two of these cable sets, on a Pershing and a Sherman. They work fine! I did change the three-wire plug to work with a 7.1 board so I could activate servo operated barrel recoil mechanisms. If others think a 7.1 version is desirable, let us know.Originally posted by Tang - RC.Senshado View PostHello all. My name is Tang. I made an account after some peer pressure.
For different cable arrangements I'd have to feel out the general demand as I have minimum quantity obligations. I'm exploiting my manufacturing connections overseas for the benefit of our hobby lol. So far this is my first experiment of bringing something to our hobby that I could see a need for. I've teamed up with Haojie to start offering them with LegoDEI Heng Long units so that people who just got their 7.0 tank will be able to join us sooner and with less effort. I have another couple of ideas in mind in the future if this proves worthwhile.
*please note that this was a preproduction demo photo so the cable colors and arrangement might be a little different upon delivery.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

Bob, it seems like you prefer the HL 7.1 board over the TK26?Originally posted by SoCalBobS View Post

Hi. With over two dozen tanks in my stable, I need to be consistent with the control systems. The 7.0/7.1's have a lot features I like; the no-spin steering option is high on the list. Adjustable precise steering is good, turning on and off airsoft is another. Smoke on/off of course. Simple volume control. The on/off wifi circuit can be used for any 6V application. My modern tanks have beacons on that circuit. Some other tanks have auxiliary functions on that channel. There are a lot of lighting circuits - muzzle flash, firing alert, brake and tail lights among others. Really the only negatives are the lack of a progressive damage from hits, and limited sound options. Regarding the latter, in outdoor battles one tank sounds like another from a distance. About 2/3 of my tanks only need the 7.0's. The 7.1s I install in tanks that have or I'm adding servo recoil or elevation.Originally posted by DavidN View Post

I have three Mato tanks all of which require servo elevation and recoil. My Vandramodel conversions also use servos.
I tried a TK26 and the coarse steering control was off-putting. Also, I never did find out how to bind more than one tank to a transmitter. For Heng Longs it's dirt simple. I did love their sound options though.
I also tried a Clark TK50. After a few weeks it began to malfunction and after hearing the frustrations others have had with them, I decided not to pursue that course. I'm sure they can work well, but if a HL board breaks down, I'm not out $200 plus.
Just a personal preference. The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!
