Although I really hope you all bought the "metal" versions 🤞🤞. The all plastic TDs have durability issues especially the way they are used in battling here in Ca.

Also remember if you keep the TD control system they don't fire the IR with the main gun, they fire it with the MG and also don't like to take hits reliably from HL or Tamiya tanks regardless of the IR receiver used. Lastly the lights don't light up when hit.

I would encourage you to have the members swap out the TD system with a 7.0/7.1 HL system at very least if they are going to battle with other brands.

Yes, I was playing with my newly arrived m60a3 yesterday and while the TD controller drives well, it sucks for main gun use. You have to stop to fire the gun and it does not shoot IR, only with the machine gun. And the tank doesnt take hits worth a darn. Needs a 7.1 system for sure

The engineer member in our club made this. Now I can run my tank and record a video without dropping my phone. So happy!

This is a not to scale battlefield map using the structures and objects available to the Irvine Club. Battles are held in different locations, so all of the objects have to be portable. The gray rectangles are bunkers made from foam. Starting points are usually behind them. Brown ones are houses that have been gathered over time. Green cones are trees that are inserted into the ground. The vertical line of trees represents a no pass line, like a stream. The light grey line represents a road. If one can't be marked out, the positions of the houses indicate it. The brown...lump...is supposed to be a bridge, either an actual structure or a flat strip of something laid down. The red and blue posts are victory spots. One or both can be used, but the field is oriented for an assault from the left to the right. Having an asymmetrical field allows a variety of maneuver possibilities.

This is just presented as a starting point for discussion.

I tried one of these for a drone radio to hold my home and film and it was crazy. Just wait till you realize you have to point your radio at your tank the whole time and watch what you’re doing through the phone. It was a pain so I dumped it. I’m working on another kind of idea for filming tanks but have been to busy with making tank parts to deal with it yet.

We have most of the items shown in your map. Two members are working on the construction of the bridge. The road, we are figuring that out. Hopefully, we will have this setup on 1/28/2024 battle event. Thank you Bob!
