  • Correct IER Bulb for use with Clark TK 50 boards

I need some help. I bought these Digikey IR Bulbs from recommendations here on the board and for the life of me none of them work. I soldered 3 in a row before testing the clark board I was putting into my Torro Panzer IV with an IR bulb I had before. It works so it isn't the board its the bulbs. I don't think these are compatible with Clark. Anyone have the numbers for the correct IR bulbs that work with Clark ?

I had a few defects in my batch. However, the rest work fine. Have you tried reverse the polarity? Solder the wire to the other leg of the bulb.

I use the Vishay TSAL6100 because Luke from Open Panzer had tested them to be a good IR LED. I had a few issues with the Osram high power ones also.

I think they are not compatible with clark. Heng long they probably work great. I will solder up a heng long lead latter and see

I have my own premade ones with OSRAM bulb and 300mm cable or 500mm cable. They work in both Clark and Heng Long boards. If you're interested, PM

ID:	391897thanks Tang. I found out that David was right. I wired it the other way and the bulbs work. I was always taught that the longer lead in the LED was positive and the shorter was negative. Apparently, these LED don't follow the rule. I received my 6100 and 6200 bulbs today and they are slightly bigger. On the Panzer IV the machine gun barrel is small so the 475 SFH 4545 fit better. It is a Torro metal turret so I don't want to drill the hole any bigger. I should be ready for the next LA Tanks with my new ride.

I don't know why the makers are so inconsistent about it. I always end up testing them for emitter signal before soldering so I don't use a bad one or waste time with a reverse wired LED lol.
