  • Heng Long Sherman 3-piece differential cover conversion.

A "little" side project I finally finished!
3-piece differential cover for the Heng Long M4A3.

I have a discount code for all ya'll here on the forum; HAPPY2024
A 3-piece differential cover for the 1/16 scale Heng Long Sherman. Easy print with very few supports and various options for an early and late version. Edit: After a comment I did some small changes to the main piece, blending in some areas to represent the casting better.

Now back to working on the Grant...

        sigh...
Already did some editing on the files after some rivetcounter on a modelling group gave me a whole sermon on how "the 3-piece was cast so the corners between the "ears" and the main part are too sharp"...
I told him politely to use 2 grams of putty and a wet finger. Either on the part or... somewhere else ...
...and then edited the part and uploaded new versions...
        deep breath
        They are not worthy...

Did he personally check every cast housing ever made to see if none had sharp corners? C'mon man, sheesh! I have no patience for people like that.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

He sounded anal-retentive enough to have indeed checked them all. At least in his head... Rivetcounters can kiss my tiny shiny hiney...
That said... I am my own worst critic, and will fix something if I can. So there's that...

Sorry, working on a Grant and a BARV. But maybe someday... But thank you for downloading the files. Only 135 more downloads and I can afford a second printer...

Rick and I are working on the low bustle 75mm and early hull as well as early a1 cast hull also, after I get the EZ8 turrets out. He has most of the drawing work done I just need to start trial and error on printing and making up kits but I cant move as fast as I would like.

Is your turret set up for servos only or can they also take a HL style elevation motor?

I have seen his turrets. They are set up for servos, but it would be easy to modify the turret to use a HL Sherman elevation system. Oh and the turrets are absolutely awesome looking. I put one on order after I handled a production one.
