Hello everyone, I’ve been lurking here for awhile and I know some of you through other social media platforms and tank forums. I’ve been collecting RC tanks for 20 years and I’ve amassed around 70 tanks. I found this forum though MRC and just recently purchased 2 M60’s and a Centurion. Looking forward to sharing tips and advice with you guys and learning from your expertise in modeling. John

You came to right place for information on TongDe M60s. Leading edge stuff being done with them here.

Check out "RichJohnson Models N Stuff". Rich has a line of upgrade cosmetic and functioning parts for the TD M60 line. He is very active on this forum as RichJohnson.

I have a meager 1/16 scale collection of 7 tanks. 6 Heng Long and 1 Tongde. The 2004 Tiger one is in the shop. My pride is the 2005 Snow Leopard upgraded to 2022 Pershing TK-6.0S radio and all metal drive chain. The HL Leopard 2A6 is open up for a second series of upgrade to servo recoil and elevation.

I used to drive on the RIGHT side and loved milked black tea in Hong Kong. Still love milked Cylon tea, but am used to drive on the wrong side after living in US for 50 years.

I am seriously considering getting the HL Challenger2. Can I see some pictures of what you did for inspiration? A build journal will be much better.

Thanks for that Bob. Now the question is? Is it right to leave it on Wolfgar’s thread? Or do I put it on a separate thread, with the whole build, as opposed to the abbreviated version?

No rules that I know of. Maybe etiquette to not hijack someone else's thread. Why not use your older Challenger thread since it already has a lot of info and photos, which could reduce duplicate questions. Just my ha' pence!

Thank you for the reminder. I just forget about what I read then. I was still thinking about the Centurion more then. But I am more inclinced toward the Challenger2 now.

I hope you do get a Challenger. It is a fantastic looking tank. There is an, ahem, "challenge" with this particular product, detracking on the left rear sprocket. I originally bought a metal wheel & track version, had that problem, measured the side to side spread of the sprocket teeth and compared it with the corresponding "holes" on the metal tracks and plastic tracks. The distance between the outer and inner holes on the plastic track was 2mm closer than those on the metal ones. I installed the plastic tracks and have used them in battles on rough terrain with no failures. Also, the rubber tads on the metal tracks are only press fit and constantly come off. They can be glued back on, IF you can find them!
