  • Just Bought A Tiger from Motion RC, a Torro 1/16 Tiger

Well first dry run and I notice something not right on the right side, took a closer look and wow!, Now did this happen in shipping? could have as I was only driving on a flat service.
My question is can I fix this?, I used super glue, but how to get the tracks back on when there so tight??

Don't think super glue will cut it, if you look at the inside towards the back, there is a sectional metal "axle" running widthwise for the idlers, the piece that broke off is "L" shape coming out from the hull secured by Allen screw, and the idler wheel shaft is attached to it. These come in L & R, try to get the correct piece from Motion to fix it properly. There will be too much tension if the piece has been broken and patched (That rear assembly actually acts as a tensioner).

Glue of any kind will not fix that. It will just break again. The idler is under A LOT of stress. Best thing is to have Motion send you the parts and you fix it.

If motion RC can't fix you up I just might have one of those tiger tensioning axles laying around here somewhere. Let me know if you need it and I'll see if I can dig it out. You won't have to pay me anything for the unit, just pay the postage, if you end up needing it.

As for putting the tracks back on, you can just pull one pin and that will separate the tracks, and then you thread them into place so that the meeting ends are on the sprocket and then just reinsert the pin. I think they have a video on how to do that at the Taigen tanks website. And remember, Torro tanks and taigen tanks are the same thing.

Did you consider requesting a replacement Torro tank? You need to make sure that the repair does not invalidate your manufacturer's warranty.

If you don't want to un-pin the track in order to put it back, you could always keep the tension on the right idler loose after replacing the "L" shape piece, loop the track back, and then re-tension the idler. I would probably take this route since you would have to re-adjust the tension after replacement of that arm.

Another option might be to send an email to John, the new Tech guy at Taigen Tanks. His email address is:

                support@taigentanks.com

For that tiny little piece that you need there's a good possibility he'll send you one for free. You can tell him Gary in Detroit sent you.

Update: You guys were right I ran it for awhile but it eventually snapped off again. Motion RC does not have the part, I will try John at Taigen, If that doesn't work maybe you can find that extra part for me Max-U52? Thanks for the help!!

Matomart in Canada carries a lot of parts. You'd have to email them since it's such a specific piece.
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

The piece he needs is specific to taigen and Torro. I've never seen mato carry any of their stuff. Mato has a good number of heng long parts but I highly doubt that they will have the taigen tensioning system. And like I said before, taigen and Torro are the same tank. They're actually made side by side in the same factory.

They share almost everything, the exception being the 75 mm Sherman. Taigen wanted to be the only ones that had that tank and they won't share with Torro or anybody else.

You'd be surprised how much politics are involved with the manufacturing of RC tanks.

OP, Taigen has listed the parts, best to reach out and ask https://www.taigentanks.com/collecti...ler-wheel-arms

Have also seen some beefier ones that are 1mm larger but shipping would probably kill the deal https://www.rctank.de/Tiger-I-spare-...ll-5mm-version

Here is one of *bay https://www.ebay.com/itm/37523302543...Bk9SR8bEl6aGZA
