Here is my Steyr next to my HL Stug III. Matching camo of course 😁. Looks pretty nice.

Which came first, the StuG or the Steyr?
The more screws it takes to reassemble a tank, the more likely it is you left something out!

I've had the StuG III for about 3 years if that's what you mean. Just happens to match the Steyr.
Took the doors apart and removed the windows today. Looks much better when the top is down now.

I just need the new tires and some WWII German figures for mine to finish it off.

Bob, the figures you have in yours look great, where can I get some like those?

          Steve. 😀

I think from the picture that you posted, it looked like a race between the two vehicles :-) So we wonder (for fun) which one crossed the finished line first.

              OK I misunderstood Bob's question.
I'll have to have a drag race to see which one is fastest.
If I remember right, I think the StuG is a pretty even match for the Steyr.

              Steve. 😀

My comment was an allusion to the "chicken or the egg" metaphor.

The figures are from two sources, painted by me. The driver is simply the guy that comes with the Heng Long German tanks, cut off at the waist. The officer is from a pair commonly found online, I don't recall where specifically. They're meant to fit the Tiger hatches. He too has been amputated to fit the car.

Well the StuG III went into service in 1940 and the Steyr in 1941 so the answer would be the chicken. 😁😄

Thanks Bob for the answer on the figures. I'll see what I can come up with. I know I've got a bunch of the HL tank commanders around here somewhere.

                  Steve. 😄

Now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing any wartime photos of Kubelwagens with the cross or only a very few trucks either.
You see it almost always on armored vehicles and tanks.
Sometimes I rely too much on box art to be correct I'm afraid.
I see the "Ultimate Soldier" Kubelwagen has a cross on it. Maybe that is where Coolbank gets their ideas?

                      Steve. 😄

I've read somewhere that even the museum paint job are sometime innacurate.🤨
Establishing color of marking/camo pattern etc.. of Black & White WW2 era pictures is quite challenging also

I choose the camo version also for my Steyr 1500A

I received mine a few days ago and I have an issue where the remote and car will work for 12 to 15 seconds then starts beeping and shuts off. I turn on the remote it will run the car for another 12 to 15 seconds and do the same thing. I've used two sets of brand new batteries and made sure that the car battery is fully charged and it does the same thing. Any advice or suggestions?

Mistakes happen a lot more often than you might think, but mostly with smaller items. There was, however, a time when the bovington tank museum displayed thier pre-production King tiger with a 3 color camo paint scheme and no zimmerrit. The problem was, there never was a king tiger with a pre-production turret, without zim that had a 3 color paint scheme. But to their credit, as soon as bovington learned of the mistake they repainted their king tiger to the proper monotone dunkelgelb paint scheme.

So thanks to Sureshot I went back to my Steyr and checked things out, and it turns out I just wasn't pushing the battery in far/hard enough. I always hate to force things with these models, but it turns out it just needed more force to get the battery to click in the last quarter inch. So now everything is good to go, and I need to study the manual to figure out how to use all the different features, and then I'll try to get some video of it running around in my driveway.

Glad you got the problem figured out.
The manual for the Steyr is actually quite good at showing all the different features. Lots of switches and buttons to figure out but not hard if taken one feature at a time. Best of luck!

                                Steve. 😄

Your Steyr is acting like it is at low voltage cutoff.
Can you check the battery voltage with a volt meter?
When I plug the battery into the charger there is a tiny light that alternates between green and red. At full charge you should see a steady green.

Did you alter your car to use other batteries? If so I wonder if there is a voltage difference between them. There is a charger circuit built into the stock battery, as evidenced by the red/green light way inside when it is on its charger.
