The Jagdpanzer was a German heavy tank destroyer produced during World War II, featuring effective armament, mobility, and armor; but its limited production numbers did not significantly impact the war. Development began in August 1942, finished in November 1943, and was showcased to Hitler in December. Mass production started in early 1944, resulting in 425 units being created.

Built on the Panther tank chassis, the Jagdpanther featured a fully enclosed superstructure with sloped walls. It had two circular hatches on the roof, a rear door, and an ammunition loading hatch. The crew of five consisted of a commander, gunner, driver, loader, and radio operator. The primary weapon was an 88 mm anti-tank cannon. The armor ranged from 40 to 60 mm on the hull and 25 to 80 mm on the superstructure.

Weighing over 45 tons, the Jagdpanther was powered by a 700 horsepower Maybach HL 230 engine, consuming 280 liters of gasoline per 100 km on-road and up to 700 liters in rough terrain. Despite its excellent design, fuel shortages in late 1944 and 1945 hindered its effectiveness. The weapon’s combination of mobility, firepower, and protection made it a formidable opponent against Allied and Soviet tanks.

This Torro 1/16 scale replica will impress the most demanding scale tanks, as the realistic airbrushed finish and stunning details combine to deliver a model that is equally adept at operation or display. An included 2.4GHz radio system provides interference-free control, while the sound system and latest speaker design deliver a range of realistic engine, track, cannon, and machine gun sound effects. Due to its weight and powerful motors and metal-geared transmission, this tank delivers superior driving characteristics over a wide range of terrain. The high-quality tracks, drive wheels, and idler wheels as well as road wheels, lower hull, turret are all manufactured from metal.

In addition to standard forward/backward/turning/spin movements, the main cannon can be raised and lowered via the servo controlled elevation/recoil mechanism. In addition, the cannon barrel recoils during firing while emitting a flash of light and smoke when fired, while the included smoke system produces a realistic plume of exhaust while driving.
    Metal tracks and Chassis

All of Torro's "Pro-Edition" tanks feature full metal drive systems. Single track links are connected with steel pins, propelled by metal drive sprockets and riding over metal road wheels and idler. Confidently conquer terrain with these durable metal tracks!
    High Torque Motors

Reliable metal geared gearboxes are driven by high torque motors.
Barrel Recoil and Muzzle Flash Effect

This model features adjustable cannon elevation, synchronized barrel recoil, and muzzle flash effect. When firing the main cannon, the barrel recoils at the same time that an LED inside the barrel flashes and a firing sound plays through the tank's internal speaker. Normally a costly aftermarket feature, this entire system is pre-installed in this Torro masterpiece.
    Includes Sturdy Wooden Crate

Torro tanks are delivered with a sturdy, decorative, and highly functional latching wooden crate to securely store and transport your valuable model.
    IR Battle Ready

Engage in exciting infrared (IR) battles with other tanks using Torro's exclusive IR Battle System! Exchange hits with opponents, with each impact accompanied by realistic sounds and actions. After five hits, your tank will be temporarily disabled. But don't worry—after a 10-second pause, your tank will be back in action, ready to rejoin the fight!
    Outstanding Scale Detail

From the authentic colors to the photo-etched scale details, the Torro Jagdpanther is a model suitable for display yet fully capable of realistic RC operation.

This is an amazing model, definitely recommend it. I'm not getting much smoke out from the smoke unit so would welcome any thoughts on how to improve that.

Back in 2019 I bought that JaPa too.
Upgraded it with a 3rd stowagebox on the rear left side of the superstructure.
I also made Zusatzpanzerung above the grills on the motordeck out of aluminum. The big one on the left is functional, can be opened/closed. Schürzen on both sides are homemade out of alu too, attached to hangers out of brass.
Wired both sides of the superstructure to ad foliage if needed.
