  • Pre 6.0, 7.0,7.1 multifunction unit

Can anyone tell me how to sync or bind an older multifunction unit (pre 6.0, 7.0, 7.1) heng long to the transmitter?

The old 5.3 had a blue wire harness to a bind button to push when you turn the xmitter on.
you must have a 5.3 xmitter not a newer one

First, thank you for trying to help me. I have a newer Heng Long transmitter but I also have a “Sender radio control” transmitter, that works with an older Heng Long Pz III. It has a small “A B C” channel switch on the bottom right hand corner. I don’t know if the “Multifunction unit” is 5.3 or not, it has no numbers to identify it.

Oh that is really old. Like 2010 or earlier. When Hl tanks first came out they had a swi h sticking out of the side to select your channel a b or c.

what you would have to do is buy a new 7.0 or 7.1 mfu and install it in your older HL tank and bind it to the newer radio.

mdz , Your older radio is likely a HL TK27 system from the pre 2.4GHz era. It may look like my 2005 HL Snow Leopard (Pershing):

You can get the HL TK7.0 MFU at $40 ($62 with transmitter) or even cheaper. Its driving quality is far superior to the TK5.3. There is no reason to keep the older radio. (The TK6.0 MFU works well too and pairs with only 6.0 transmitter. It is out of production now.)

Thank you very much for the help and explanation. I’m a newbe but I’m learning (albeit slowly). I kind of figured the direction to go is to replace the multifunction board as you suggested. But I have one tank with a 6.0 board in it but it will not sync when I try to power it up, any suggestions? Also, in the one photo there is a blue circuit board, what is that? Do You mind if I pick your brain about questions I have? Thank you for your help.

It sounds like your 6.0 may not be bound. Watch the video to find out how to do it.

The TK6.0 MFU works well and bonds with only 6.0 transmitter. Similarly, The TK7.0 MFU bonds with only 7.0 transmitter. Usually, the Heng Long transmitter has a small round stick to identify the transmitter model, but the front look similar.
